Aw Birdie, congratulations!! Sounded super lovely and I wish you lots of happiness for married life.
I bet you can't wait for the weekend when you can just sit down and reflect on the whole "bonkersness" of the last few weeks (months!). When is your party at the rugby club?

Congratulations birdie! Am on my phone too, so will look properly at pics later but you look lovely, and it sounds like you have had a wonderful time!

I can't wait for mine in May now! Incidentally how did you find your choice of shoes (wedges) on the sand? Currently have choice of spending £150 to shorten dress so I can wear flip flops or getting platform wedges as the dress is 3 inches too long for me but very intricate...

    Thanks,

    Leah

You both look gorgeous in the photos Birdie! Yay you're married again! :)

Did all the birthdays etc go well too?

Getting excited about mine now, but still stressing about the reception when we come home, as although the deadline was yesterday, some people still haven't replied, and some people have replied and can't come and we don't have enough people now (we paid for 40).
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks everyone! You're right Poddle, we're really looking forward to the weekend when we can sit back and just reflect... whilst drinking the Veuve Clicquot that my Mum's friend gave us, yum! The party is next Saturday so I'm going to be having heart failure next week trying to get it all sorted!

Nublue, I didn't actually try the wedges on the sand! We decided to get married in the Gazebo rather than the beach as the new wedding arch things they've put on the beach looked awful and were really open to on-lookers. Since where we got married had a tiled floor I wore my posh shoes all day. When we went on the beach for photos OH gave me his flip flops to wear :rotfl::

For a couple of sandy photos I got into position, put my shoes on, put all my weight on my toes so I wouldn't sink then took them off again! I've got to say that I don't think my wedges would have been that great as the heel on mine are still quite narrow so probably would have been a bit wobbly. If you do get wedges get some with a pretty wide bottom, more like wedge flip flops although they're not that sexy!

Sexymouse, the birthdays all went well, the first birthday was OH's Usher's girlfriend and they had a nice quiet dinner together in the 'a la carte' restaurant and had a lovely time together, for the other 2 birthdays I spoke to the Maitre d in the main restaurant and organised for the tables to be decorated and the waiters brought out birthday cake and sang and banged drums which was cool!

I just wanted to say congratulations! I spent hours reading through your topic from start to finish. The pictures are lovely, and you look stunning.

I am so having a beach wedding somewhere nice and hot, stuff everyone else.

    Enjoy your party!

Thanks lexilex, and well done for reading all of my ramblings! ;)

OH's Mum has texted me to say that's she's cutting out palm tree leaves for our pineapple palm trees, she's a good'un! I've also ordered 100 plastic shot glasses for a welcome shot of Dominican rum, hope there's enough rum left for me too, yum!

I got a really cool weaved palm leaf hat for the party, looky:

My Mum got me some funky sunglasses to wear for my little Hen night which will be brought out for the photobooth too:

Now back to sorting through even more photos, upside of having 15 people on holiday with us, loads of pictures! :)

    Hello!

Little update on the progress of the party plans (I do like leaving things to the last minute!) and a to-do list more for my benefit than anyone else’s!

I checked through the stash of stuff my Mum brought back from America last year and found some plastic sheet murals that stick onto the wall, there are 2 with palm trees on which will be ideal as the backdrop for the photo booth so I can stop panicking about finding something suitable! They’re not quite long enough to fill a photo properly (if that makes sense!) so my Mum got some blue cotton sheeting that I’m going to stick the murals to. Luckily, the bottom of the mural is all hibiscus flowers (I’ll post a photo later so this makes sense!) and I’ve also got some card hibiscus flower cut-outs so I’m going to attach them at the bottom of the sheet to try to expand it a bit more so it will look better in the photos. It’s quite sad but I got really giddy and happy when I was going through the stash and found all this great stuff that I’d forgotten I had!

I still need to make a sign for the photo booth, not sure if I want to write a little rhyme or if I should just be to-the-point?! The same with the flip flops, little poem or just a sign saying, ‘Help yourself!’

I’ve managed to size label and tie up 2 of my 3 boxes of flip flops, I would have done the last box but I ran out of ribbon! MIL picked some more up for me at the weekend though so as soon as I pick it up I can finish them off! I struggled to find a box or basket big enough (that wasn’t stupidly expensive!) so I had a little brainwave and I’m displaying them in my suitcase! It fits the holiday theme and it’s covered in pink flowers so it’s pretty and funky!

I’ve painted 6 wooden photo frames in bright colours, they now need a coat of enamel to make them look shiny and ‘finished’; I just need to print off some wedding photos to go in them now! I have a mini photo printer at home so I have to check tonight if it prints the size I need or if I’ll have to hot-foot it to Boots and get them printed off! I’ve also got the little hurricane lamps (which I took out of the packaging and loaded up with coconut tea lights) and little coloured buckets which I filled with sand and put shells in. OH hates clutter and the poor thing is dying a little inside at the minute as all of this stuff is on the dining room table!

I think I’ve got enough bunting to go round, there was quite a lot in the USA stash, on top of the flip flop bunting that I’ve made and MIL brought round some flower garlands last week. I need to order some little plastic decoration clippy hook things (quick to put up, strong and come off the wall without leaving a mark) from Amazon, I don’t really get the logic though, they’re selling a ‘value pack’ of 40 clips for £4.99 or a normal pack of 20 for £1.99, so if I buy 2 packs i.e. 40 clips it would only cost £3.98!

Tonight I must order the tablecloths for the tables, I went to the club yesterday and did a count of the tables and there are 5 big circular tables (well, that’s how many we’re going to have out), 4 little circular tables and 4 rectangular tables plus 3 serving type tables. Think I’ll just get a big banqueting roll for the small, rectangular and serving tables and get different coloured table cloths for the big tables. I also need to order plastic bowls. See, I’m really disorganised!

So in a nutshell, things to do tonight and tomorrow are:
    [STRIKE]Order tablecloths[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Order plastic bowls[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Order decoration hooks[/STRIKE]
Spray photo frames with clear enamel *1st coat done
Print off photos *My photo printer is too small so it's off to Boots on Wednesday!
Paint the frame around the white board. Think about putting a picture on the back or leaving it blank. *1st coat done
Make signs for photo booth and flip flops
    Put photo booth backdrop together
Get ribbon from MIL and finish the last box of flip flops
Check my little folder of inspiration and make sure I’ve not missed any genius ideas!
