Both good ideas, thanks! It's my Mum's birthday whilst we're out there and I think I'm going to pay for her to get a massage on the beach so I'll keep the pampering to that but she loves big bright jewellery and I think she'll be really chuffed to find something pretty in her bag!

Hair trial for BM went well last night, she's going to have her hair like this:



We've got a pretty coral colour flower clip to attach to it and it looks lovely. We went to Pizza Express (2 for £12!) afterwards and she looked so fancy next to me with my hair pulled back in a ponytail!

I'm thinking something half-up-half-down for me, a bit beachy, not too polished, certainly not straight because that'll never happen when we're there!

I'm really excited today, in 3 weeks I'll be breaking up from work and it'll be the last time I'm there using my maiden name as I'm going to ask IT to change everything to my married name whilst I'm away! 3 weeks! That's nothing!

OH picked up the OOT gift bags from the Post Office today so that's another thing to tick off the list! I'm hoping there'll be a 'sorry we missed you' card in our letter box for the invites, OH really wants to give them out tomorrow!

OH is also going to pay the venue hire tomorrow, when it was booked his friend said he'd pay for it and we knew that he'd back out of it because he's a right flake and lo and behold last night, after OH sent him a text saying that he's not going to be able to make his Stag party because he can't afford it (Going to cost about £250-300 and this guy didn't go on OH's Stag so he doesn't feel too bad) his reply said, 'Fine. Don't know if I can pay for the venue any more because I have to buy 2 new tyres'. We knew it was coming, it was just a matter of when. I prefer it this way, I felt a bit funny that this friend had offered to pay in the first place, felt like he was holding it over our heads IYKWIM. I guess we were right too since he retracted the offer as soon as OH told him he couldn't afford his stag do! I think it's only about £75 so it's not a massive issue for us to pay it and OH really wants it paid off now so he knows the party's definitely on!

i too am getting married in cuba on 21st feb, and were having an 'exotic' reception when we get back!!!

I haven really been on the weddings board but was drawn to your thread because of the title, and i've just read from the start, i'd like to wish you all the best for your wedding and the reception.

Also pretty scary as we have many of the same ideas for the reception!!!!!

Hey Birdrie, love your guest book. I like the title (once seen it clearer) where both your initials are back to back. Mines and OH's initials are the same and I've been looking at ways to incorporate them into the invites or something.

Aww thanks for noticing that Swinstie! It took me ages to get it right (so difficult finding a nice R without curly legs!) and OH was less than blown away when I showed him it! He just doesn't get these little things! :wall: I've decided I'm not going to tell anyone about the guest book. My Mum thinks that she knows about everything to do with the wedding so it'll be nice to surprise her with something too!

I found some nice Elle Macpherson minis that I bought in the sale last year whilst I was having a bit of a clearout yesterday so I'm putting some body wash, hand cream and body lotion in her OOT bag and I've 2 a pretty purple shower caps from other gift sets that I've never used so I'm putting one in Mum's OOT bag and the other one in SIL's.

My hair trial went well on Saturday, I'm going to have my hair curly, half up and in a bit of a messy bundle. I can't describe it but it's nice! Oooh and I told my Mum about the whole 'Wide' issue with my registry office dress so she marched me to Phase Eight and bought me this dress:



I know it's not white or cream like I'd planned but it fits nicely, looks lovely, goes well with my little fur shrug and I'll wear it again and again. I showed OH and he really likes it too!
