You're on fire with the ideas Lulu! I might have to get bigger bags!

We'll be getting a DJ for the party but I want a steel band to play for a while too, I just have to find out how much it'll be and if we feel it is worth it! Maybe we could get the steel band and get rid of the DJ and just stick a summery album on repeat on the ipod!

Hey Birdie, just caught up and seen the bit about the registry office and I think Dinah's right It could end up being registry wedding, a few people on a big holiday and then everyone at the party afterwards. Could you not have the registry bit afterwards, on the day of the party perhaps? Then the bit in the Dominican will be the 'main' thing, with the registry bit being the 'seal'?

I'd like it that way but in order to have the renewal of vows we have to present our wedding certificate. I'm going to speak to OH and try to make him see why it'll be silly to have our families there. I was well up for taking 2 friends along to witness the signing and keeping it quiet and low-key. I'm sure our parents will be fine with that, surely they'd rather see us get married in all our finery on the beach than in a little office wearing jeans!

It's a shame so many people seem to know about it already, I think I'd have kept it a secret, I'd be worried people would just not bother with the holiday bit if they went to that part.

Seems like even trying to have a wedding abroad to avoid all the organisational fuss just doesn't work!

LOL, I know! Only our parents and our 2 friends that were part of the original plan know what's going on. No-one else knows or will know if it's up to me!
I could just lie and say to everyone that we've changed our minds and are getting the actual marriage ceremony over there and go to the registry office with 2 strangers to witness it.

    Thanks Princessbutterpea!

Spoke to my Mum last night and told her about the registry office and not having siblings there and she agreed that it is for the best (even though it is probably killing her that my brother will be 'left out') as I really don't want it to be a Big Thing. Now I just have to convince OH to keep his brothers away!

My Mum has booked 2 nights for us in London to look for fancy wedding shoes (and other bits I'm sure!) as she's determined to buy me some super duper designer ones (that I can wear again so they don't have to be 'wedding' shoes) so I'm trying to think of where to look... Any ideas?

Harrods, Selfridges, Jimmy Choo, ooh there are loads. I'm planning on having these as mine - mum has agreed now I just need to find some to try on so I know what size I take - or find a UK shop that sells them!

Ooooh lush! Me likey a lot! Oooh and thanks for the link- I want these!

I think Louboutins are small sizes so if you can't find a shop to try them on order a size too big.

Ooh they're lovely Birdie, I love the idea of blue shoes, they still have my dream wedding shoes in Office (£60 rather than £500+!) and I'm so tempted to buy them and out them away but I think that would be tempting fate! :o
