I walked 3/4 of the way to work today - it's a bit too far to walk the whole way.

My petrol light came on last night and rather than use the £5 I had put by for petrol, I thought I would walk and pay it off the Barclay Card instead. As tomorrow is payday I get my next lot of petrol allowance and thought it would have been a waste really.

Am going to try and walk twice a week. As I always go home for lunch this will save me 8 journeys a week. Would be nice if this reduced my petrol allowance by £5 every week, but will just see how it goes.

Also, my Dad works next door so I can go back with him and have free lunch at my parents!

Only trouble is it's now pouring with rain and I have to walk home again, fingers crossed the rain stops by 5.00 p.m !

Well done you! I know this sounds weird, but if you walked home and got soaked, then you have the nice part of having a nice warm bath afterwards, popping on the jim jams and settling down for a nice warm drink and some tv.

    Super!

I have just cleared my first credit card - the Barclay Card is gone! :j

When I had my light bulb moment this card was at £1421.00.

Since I started I have cleared Additions, Next and now Barclay Card - £3016.96 paid back in 8 months.

Today I sent £727.86 to Lloyds, after interest has been applied I believe this balance will be down to £9445.80. This is the one I am going after now, watch out Lloyds you will soon be history!

I'm off to spend £46.00 on my cats booster jabs this morning and then £215 for the dog insurance on Monday. How I wish I could send this money to Lloyds.

Am having a girlie night in at a friends tonight with pizza (frozen of course) and to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic, I have a bottle of wine in the fridge to take.

Now do I stick to the soft drinks so I can drive home and save myself £5? I seem to get tispy on one glass of wine these days, so not sure it's worth the taxi money!

Have decided to set myself a little challange.

After I have paid my bills (including any overpayments I had budgeted to make) I am going to keep a record of any extra payments I make after this.

I want to try and find an additional £50 per month, whether its been saved from my £15 per week spending money, left over from the Tesco shop or saved from my petrol allowance (as I am going to walk to work twice a week, weather permitting).

I already have £7.28 to pay in the bank and send to Lloyds today, so think £50 a month is possible.

Found 1p on the floor at the vets, then I walked into town and found 5p and on the walk home I found another penny - a little old lady and man watched me pick up this penny and were laughing at me as they said that was a quarter of their pension. I think they were trying to guilt me into handing it over!

Ended up paying £15.75 into the bank, leaving me with £5 till next Friday (probably won't even need this much). This has now been sent to Lloyds and only another £34.25 to find to hit the target I set myself.
