Had a bit of a down day today, called Lloyds to see if they had re-done my statement only to hear that it was in fact correct, as I had changed my statement date they had applied 49 days interest. Had a shouting match with the Advisor, which I lost. That's £216 worth of interest I have to pay this month, what an utter waste.

Cried on the dog at lunch time, then cried again when I got back to work when my boss asked if I was ok. Really need to get a grip!

Have today cancelled my gym membership and my pension (only for the time being) as this gives me another £80 a month to send to Lloyds Have You Over TSB.

I think someone has it in for me this week! Had an email from Thomson today stating that the remainder of my deposit is still due for my summer holiday. Had a massive argument with some poor sod in a call centre, he was insisting my card had declined, whilst I was insisting I can see it left my bank account on the 1st March.

Gave up and called someone else who confirmed that yes they did have my deposit and they didn't know what the person in the accounts department was talking about. Marvellous.

I know I shouldn't really be going on any summer holidays at the moment, but its for my 30th Birthday so kind of justified!

Yippee, just won £10 on the horses!

My office was doing a sweep stake that I refused to participate in on account of my debt busting, so someone put my £1 in for me and I won!!!!!! Gave him his £1 back leaving me with a tenner - which I will of course be sending to my Barclay Card.

Someone else brought my Friday Ice Ring Doughnut for me as well as I said I couldn't afford one this week, so am well and truly up today!

Just walked all the way to the bank and back without getting caught in the rain! Free exercise and saved on fuel - found a penny on the way, so was worth the effort!

Another £11.99 sent to Barclay Card today.

Going to watch Avatar in 3D at the cinema tonight - my OH finally worn me down, its not really my sort of thing I'm more of a rom-com kind of girl!

Another £5 sent to Barclay Card today that I had left over from my cinema budget.

Can't wait till pay day on Friday when I can clear this one once and for all and close the account. Then watch out Lloyds Have You Over TSB!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi Woowoo,

Just read your diary. Keep up the good work. Seems like when you have one good run of luck, other things follow too. I'm 30 in November too!! And the holiday is well deserved. You're only 30 once!!

Pennies found on the floor is a good idea, I've been looking round on my lunchbreaks too. I know it can seem harsh when you get stung for interest, but this is the view I'm taking on it. These credit card companies have been having it easy, sitting on their behinds and raking the money in. But now we're getting money wise, and the sunny holiday for them is coming to an end.

You'll enjoy tearing up the junk mail from them, which tempts you to spend with various "rewards", and you know that you can resist being drawn back into their trap. Don't know if you've had this from Barclaycard but the new "reward" where you spend on their card at participating retailers and they give you "money" back to spend at other participating retailers. So they're inviting you to spend, spend, spend.

I hate that little map they put on the back that shows where you are, and where these retailers are. I know this probably sounds weird, and I know they have my address for billing purposes, but that was a little too big brother for my liking.

Just think, fast forward 10 years from now, and we'll have savings, and then we can be selective about who we choose to have the privaledge of storing our money. Won't that be nice, to be in control again?

    Best wishes for journey :D
