I'm in the trade and can say there is no supplier cost increase so far this year .. and their rsp is inchanged at £4.80
so yes does look as some "super" promotion is going to happen !.
It could be worse, the trade price in Bookers (major wholesaler for independent shops) is £5.05 with a rrp of £5.69.
It's very hard for small shops to compete when their trade price is higher than the retail price in supermarkets!0 -
It's a luxury product now I guess
Oh well - at least a little goes a long way...0 -

When I saw the title of this thread, I suddenly got the urge to have a cheese and marmite sandwich.
I've just finished it and damn tasty it was too!
I was hoping I'd have something useful or interesting to add to this thread; however I can't think of anything, apart from saying that I may even go and treat myself to a second cheese and marmite sandwich now as the first one was so good.0 -

My local B M Bargains had a marmite jar made to look like a cricket ball for £1.29 http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01414/marmite_1414108c.jpg0

We ran out of marmite a couple of weeks ago so bought the big one in Mr S for £4.40! We eat loads of it in our house as the children can't take peanut butter to school (rules ). I've never seen anything apart from marmite in Mr S, don't think they sell their own (according to mysupermarket they don't).
I have a mini (empty) jar from when my DS1 was 6 months old. It says "My first jar of Marmite". They don't do them anymore...
epsilondraconis - I had a craving for a cheese/marmite sandwich the other day, yummy:rotfl:
