Thanks all for good wishes. Off to office in a mo. Currently *melting* in internet cafe and has to buy a new shirt as other one was all sweaty!! (in the sale, honest! Still has to come off benefit challenge money tho, grr)
Well, they will just have to cope with me being less than pristine!
Maybe I should take the interviewers cornettos.. otoh, no Lidl round here and I ain't paying full price!!!
b/f called to wish me luck and he has done his college application and seeing other college tomorrow, so he may get to survive another week.

Final 5 mins of interview consisted of being grilled about qualifications I don't have. Angry. If I DID have them, because they are relevant, they would be on my cv. Why couldn't they just email me to ask in advance of my 13 hour day travelling etc, if they are so bloomin' important???
Feel I've wasted a day. Won't find out for sure for 3 weeks.
Where's my towel? I want to throw it in. This week just keeps getting better. Plus flight an hour late.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Thanks ali. Have just done 4 applications for interim jobs where I know I can stay with mates. Am feeling so panicky, no idea how to get my confidence back up for interview next week.
Think I will knock off early today and go home.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Confidence is the big thing for those sorts of situations. You could always modify the "money is coming easily to me" mantra.
Confidence is coming easily to me.
Confidence is coming easily to me.
Confidence is coming easily to me.
Confidence is coming easily to me.
Of course that depends whether the "money" one worked for you.Emmzi wrote:Think I will knock off early today and go home.
Excellent idea - so have I. :beer:Emmzi wrote:

Had long 1am discussion with b/f. We are having a bit of a break while we both try and sort ourselves out, so there is less pressure all round.
Did online tests for interview next week yesterday. Looking forward to an early night tonight, and I will do proper prep tomorrow.
I have also applied for an emergency job - shift work, but th ehighest paying call centre I could find - and because I *know* they will say I'm overqulified, I have told a minor porky and said I'm going back to college part time to explain it - although in fact, this might happen, I'm missing a key bit of paper for some jobs I'm looking at.
So... still have 2 well paid job interviews to go for, and will start applying for other jobs in earnest now too. I'll be skinty skint, but the mortgage will get paid.
still a bit weepy, had a cry dropping b/f off this morning. We're both electing to have a mega healthy lifestyle for a bit. I'm sure we both have mild depression, and beer won't be helping.
I am not feeling so confident yet. But I will have a good old clean of the house tomorrow and that'll make me feel a bit better.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Em, glad to see you're being a bit more proactive - i always find that helps assuage the anxiety a bit. You're doing well. Keep plugging away and it WILL all come right eventually. Take some time to treat yourself a bit - even if it's just a cool swim or a quiet night in. Sounds like you need to recharge you batteries a bit.xxxOfficial Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Hey Emmzi,
So sorry I didn't catch this thread until now - sorry things aren't going well for you. I really hope they will pick up soon.
The break from the b/f sounds the best thing for both of you and i'm sure that with all your har work, something will come up on the jobs front asap. At least you have been very sensible and saved up enought money to cover your outgoings.
Thinking of you

Thanks both. Yes, break will let everything calm down. I'm still going to be supportive of him - just by phone and email etc. And we'll see where we are in a little while.
Was searching for OU courses (I need something to occupy my mind!! and stop me worrying) and there are a couple of subjects I know about where they are looking for tutors, so I'll give that a go too. I think I may be about to enter what they call a 'portfolio career' i.e. lots of bits and pieces part time!
And yes... I don't really need to panic for a while yet. But it would be so lovely to have a decent job and be able to pay off the debt instead of eating up my savings in everyday living.
Still.. I'm in a better place than a year ago, and however little cash I have left, you guys will help me get by on it!Debt free 4th April 2007.
