sorry but I haven't been on here long, I don't know your situation DUTR.

Good old mum eh? how does she feel about it, has she any contact with the child/ren?
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

Aye but the contact is worth more to a child than any amount of CS :D
  • Hmmm, I'm not always so sure about that!!!

Theres a thing called EQUALITY and that means or should mean that NRPS either male or female should pay maintenance END OF.:D

I am a male PWC. CSA tried chasing NRP for a year but really did not put any effort into it in reality. They just fobbed me off with lies and excuses. Eventually got my mp involved and i started getting a calculation and payment within a few weeks set up!
BTW it was Bolton office who i felt did not treat me fairly as a male PWC.

OP - have you tried asking the CSa to do a search under the HMRC to check their income level and if they are working.

\ritchie, you will probably find that if you were female, it wouldn't have made any difference to the way you were treated. I, as a female PWC had to fight and fight to get the CSA to take me seriously - I had to wait 10 years to get any money because they believed everything the NRP said, even when given evidence proving he was lying - they still do it now, but it is almost over.

As a female PWC under the Bolton office I can assure you we are getting treated just the same :( Three years for a calculation, no money yet and breath NOT being held, apparently all NRP has to do is write 'not known at this address' for it all to stop. You have to fight and fight to get results!

I am suprised CSA has not helped you (but not suprosed its Bolton). Do you have info to confirm where your ex lives and works?
Sureley you know where your kids reside during contact time with him? you must have an emergency contact number and address? (if not i would refuse contact unless he had a genuine reason not to disclose).

The CSA do have powers to contact HMRC to find out a person's employment details. If i was you contact your MP, much better than stressing out with the numpties at bolton.

BTW there are other ways to find out if your ex is in employment, but not going to reveal all here on open website, dont want to help NRPs find more loop holes!

Sometimes I wonder whether the fact I work full time and claim no benefits means I wasn't considered quite as important (wishes the roll eyes smilie still existed!!) I have always passed on any change of address, but everytime I have spoken to bolton, I seem to need to repeat the information!
As to contact, that is a separate issue and for me should not be linked to child support (personal feelings, not about anyone elses arrangements) Daughter should see her dad, and I spend a lot on petrol to ensure she sees him. The matter of not paying child support whilst having 'good' contact is for his moral code, not mine!! (sorry just noticed you didn't suggest not allowing contact due to money but if he didn't tell me where he is, he does tell me willingly just refuses to acknowledge CSA letters)
Ex works on a contract basis, so I never know who he is working for, just the part of the country he is in.
I just make sure it doesn't stress me as I provide a nice life for our daughter.

ETA, forgot to say thank you for the reply!!
