Because we are now in 2012 all the 20,000+ posts that say to ignore have now been superceded by the new EU legislation and advice which is to ignore, ignore, ignore some more.
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam
  • Thanks, nice to get some reassurance and hear from others experiencing these bullying tactics. Definitely going to carry on ignoring them now!

Newbies - Welcome to MSE! :T

The advice in England/Wales has changed - DO NOT IGNORE!!!!

So stop reading this ancient thread and get reading the sticky threads on page one from this year instead!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • I'm sure someone on here has had similar experience, but haven't seen any posts yet and can't wade through 1000 or so (on this thread alone) to check so apologies if repeating.

I've just had a PCN from Parking Eye, but am fortunate enough to have my valid ticket still sat on my dashboard for the time they claim I was parked illegally. In this case I have responded (I know, ignore, I know) but given they haven't a hope in hell of getting any money out of me I was interested to see what their reaction would be when faced with proof of their blatant fraudulent behaviour.

And just out of interest - they can't touch me, but is there any way I can touch them? I wouldn't mind some compensation for unfair accusations being sent to my workplace - i might even start sending them some their own letters from the sticky thread...........

Short answer is no you can't really touch them at all ...they are allowed to invoice you if they believe you have either not paid or have not displayed the ticket according to their terms and conditions... just as you are allowed to ignore their invitations to pay an unenforceable penalty..personally I'd forget about it and get a life.

You were not "parked illegally", as no statute law was ever broken.

On the Pay and Display machine did you have to enter your number plate? It might be a simple case of you not putting your number plate in correctly.

The main thing is that the landowners damages are zero, you paid for your stay. Ignore Parking Eye (although if the car-park belongs to a retailer, complain to the retailer and ignore them)
  • Hi guys yet another parking fine for me too. Spent 3 hrs at the services waiting for someone and got a £90 ticket reduced to £60 if I pay prompt.

included is a photo of my car and a second photo of my registration number as it was dark 3 hrs later.

Apparently there is signs everywhere displaying the parking terms of 2 hrs maximum stay.

Do I ignore it like everyone suggests, I hate being conned!
