The advice in England/Wales has changed - DO NOT IGNORE!!!!

So stop reading this ancient thread and get reading the sticky threads on page one from this year instead!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Read the sticky threads at the top of this forum.

Look at the letter-chains on the top sticky (permanent info) thread.

Watch the Watchdog video linked to a sticky thread called 'welcome, please read before posting' (yawn...sorry but they are STICKIES, that's what a forum is for, = info at the top, new posts below if the stickies do not answer the query). Surely newbies must see the forum they register on, not just this single thread?

If still in doubt after watching the Watchdog video and reading the dozens of current threads (i.e. not just this one), then Google a relevant sentence from the letters you receive, if it doesn't appear on the top sticky thread then it will be mentioned on t'internet somewhere.

We have all had these letters, we have all ignored them. Classic scam already outed 3 times on Watchdog. Read the sticky threads at the top of this forum.

  • Hi All,

Thanks for the advice, but some confusion I think.

I only asked my question as I had already replied to Parking Eye, and just wanted to know if it was too late to start ignoring them becasuse i had actually replied?

All the info I came across said to NEVER respond, but nothing I could find advising what to do if you have already appealed or replied.

Thats all, IF i had come across this info BEFORE i replied I would not have needed to post anything as all the great advice is there and I would have ignored the PCN straight away.

Im just concerned as I may have started the ball rolling towards me by replying?!

Thank you esmerobbo reading and replying accordingly.

And sorry to those frustrated by my post.

    Warm regards,

    Nim78

  • Don't worry all that might happen is that you might get an extra bit of threatmail as you may be considered an easy target. Sometimes I ignore my own advice and write to ParkingEye just to wind them up and get extra comical threatmail.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!
  • Thanks Oopsadaisy and bromsgrovebarry!

It looks like im expecting a standard your appeal was unsucessfull response and so I will join the legion and begin ignoring anything they come back with!

The part about writing to Parking Eye IS comical, I needed that after a stressful day!! ;-)

You never know sometimes they look in and if they can put 2 + 2 together they allow an appeal so they can show they do allow them.

However I would not hold your breath!:D

As your wife is disabled, a slight overstay may well be a reasonable adjustment under the Equalities Act, so if they did do court you hav3e a defence ready, but I would ignore everything from now on

You have to love the Internet. We just received a PE PCN today and through the love of online I already knew is was bog roll. I wonder how many letters will come through to 'scare' us? Lol
The car park in question has a gym and about 15 large retailers and we over stayed by 20mins, 3 hour limit apparently. So quite how you can avoid going over 3 hours after a 1 hour workout, 30+ mins in steam room and jacuzzi. Then chill have a coffee, go do Christmas shopping, buy some food, look for a new TV, go buy some new light fittings and finally load he car up. Not saying we did all this but it's easily done.
I for one will let PE take one for the BPA team waste more resources on letters. In fairness to relax the wife I may complain to one or 2 of the retailers.
Keep up the good advice though folks.
