Your company are under no obligation to tell them anything, if you have a boss/manager who is wise they can put a stop to it from the outset. However some companies believe these invoices are legit and should be dealt with.
If the company get stroppy about it just tell them to pass your details to PE, then you ignore their letters.

The identifying the driver bit is only a small part, even with the drivers ID it does not make these things anymore enforceable!

  • A little information please

I work in the NHS as a nurse. from the 1st of november my Trust has allowed Parking Eye to take over car parking. I pay £27.50 for the privalage of going to work as it stands.
From the 1/11/11 disabled people visiting the hospital now have to pay. I believe in the last few day 7 staff have been issued with these "invoices". Because we are scared most are being paid without question. As an mse user i decided to come here for info. Now the other thing that is passing amongst staff is that Parking Eye is also using parking as a means of clocking on when staff arrive and leave the car park, this will be used to discipline staff! i dont know how lawfull this is.
I am quite anxious even though I have not done anything wrong. but it is like big brother watching you.
On the info boards placed by PE it says £90 fine ( £45 if paid early) it says that court proceedings will be issued. it also says it is a private car parking firm. Fines will be issued for parking outside marked areas, staying over alloted time, parking on yellow lines, disabled bays without badge. they also apply to blue badge holders. Staff are getting some very angry members of the public to deal with as a consequence.

Can your place of work use PE to clock you on and off work times?
Can your workplace if you recieve invoice enforce payment? threaten you with disciplinary proceedings?

Are they actually using the word "fine"? if so they are being very naughty. Private companies cannot issue fines.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

    1. Not sure, but unlikely; can the hospital currently use their own CCTV footage??? What does the union say???

    2. No...it's a civil matter.

    3. Unlikely...I'd love to hear the industrial tribunal following that one.

Seriously, the union should have this sorted.

And I bet 7 staff will be receiving letters shortly saying "sadly your payment was received too late to qualify for the discount, you still owe £45"

Cos Parking Eye will always come back asking for more
  • thanks to all for replies.

Thank you to coupon mad, but unfortunately yes we are naive enought to pay them. why, because currently we are at threat of disciplinary action, This is making us nurses very paranoid.
Unions, dont make me laugh. no help any more in this climate. I have not been issued with an "invoice" yet. am tempted to put out fliers from this website for all to see but if i am caught then I will be in the firing line. We do have cameras everywhere, inside and out.
i really feel for members of the public who are either sick or visiting the sick who may get these PE invoices. I will certainly verbally pass this on but I am sure that the majority out of fear will pay.
having never being trouble myself, and even reading lots of info on here, I would still need a lot of bottle to ignore them.
Very useful thread, really is an eye opener. thanks to all who have contributed.
