Parking Eye - Nasty tricks
Comments
-
hi
I had an invoice from parking eye- I had overstayed in a car park for 18 minutes whilst I was waiting with 4 other parents (who have all paid £60). I sent a cheque for a £5er as this is what the hotel charged for the day ( I only found this out when i returned to check where the signs were). They have sent my cheque back and said its not enough. Can I still sit it out or pay? I worry that they will send people out to my house.0 -

They won't. Don't worry. You've saved yourself a fiver.
Check out the stickies in this forum to see that this is a scam, and to verify all the things that WON'T happen to you. Point the other parents here as well, to let them know they've been well and truly "had".0 -
thanks, I will. I am a bit of a worrier and was concerned about not paying, I think the other parents just paid it because they can- I am trying to sort my finances out and just cannot afford this amount of money- its crazy that they can get away with this. I appealed and put valid reasons but clearly this wasnt good enough! That fiver will now pay for me and my daughter to go for a swim! Kate.0

The advice in England/Wales has changed - DO NOT IGNORE!!!!
So stop reading this ancient thread and get reading the sticky threads on page one from this year instead!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Listen carefully....STOP WORRYING!!!!!!!
Follow the advice which has been provided in 5000+ threads on here.
It's a six letter word.
Begins with 'I', ends with 'GNORE'.
Rhymes with snore.
In the words of beloved Rolf..."Can you see it yet?"
Paraphrasing an advert...5000+ threads can't all be wrong.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Well quite !0

I searched this thread for posts with the word ignore in them.
The system stops at 300 finds...so i'm not sure exactly how many in total there are, but....the 300 take us back to the 6th of October [some two weeks].
300 per two weeks is equal to 7800 per annum; say 4 yrs = 30 600 posts containing the word ignore.
Now I'm not saying that all of these are advice etc...so lets discount 50% = 15 000 posts advising people to ignore ppc invoices/'fake fines'.
In the same time-scale I can't recall a single ppc succeeding in a typical case in ct [other than staged], so....!!!!!! do people still ask what to do?????Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
It must be psychological, they need the reassurance an individual re-iteration of the ignore the ppc advice brings, to their own situation. It helps legitimise the tactic in their own minds as they still half believe they have committed an offence so it removes self doubt imho. An Op will be afraid that THEY will be the ONE the PPC decides to do court with, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.0

Also don't forget that a good deal of the posters are newbies so need the extra hand holding. They often can't believe what is in front of them as the ppc's paperwork is designed to instil fear and doubt into them. We were all newbies once so a bit of slack cutting is in order.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Seems the best option, after all a shared courage is much stronger0
