  • Hi,

today i received a parking charge through the post as i went shopping to Walsall Crown Wharf on 27th December. I was under the impression that bank holidays are free and also that the 27th December is a bank holiday.

Everyone is saying on here not to pay it however please advise as i don't want to end up with a HUGE fine at the end of it.
  • Hi I recieved one of these letters last week that said I had not brought a ticket , I checked and had got the ticket still in the car but had gone over the time by 38 mins I did email them to say this and attached copy of ticket . Since then someone advised me to check this site but is it to late now I haven't told them I was driving but have now recieved another letter saying I must pay with in 14 days and letter has pic of my car please help what do I do thanks

I hardly ever go shopping in Llandudno but I went on the 4th Jan & I have just been sent a parking charge after parking at Park llandudno for 2 hrs 38 mins . To be honest I should have read the board closer as I thought it was free for blue badge holders but from what I read here it isn't and that there are allocated disabled places only .
I have written an appeal and sent copies of my blue badge and shopping invoices but after reading this forum I am totally lost as to what to do now. My instinct is to just pay as I don't know if I can cope with ignoring court summons etc . I don't know who I am more annoyed with , me for not reading through all the blurp or the company for using threats. One thing I do know is that I shall be avoiding Llandudno in future for the rare shopping treats I have

PS; newbie error I meant to post this in the Llandudno thread :(
  • i know people say not to pay but technically i was in the wrong as it was bank holiday and it was 4 hours free parking but i was there for 4 hours and 19 minutes ... could they use the fact that i am in the wrong against me if anything were to come of this?
  • Hi I have got one of those parking fines yesterday and I have been reading all your advice to ignore it. I'm worried that they will take me to court. Am I in my rights to ignore it? The fine is £90 or £75 if I pay within 14 days. I was in Leicester when I got the fine Please help me with proof I should ignore it. I'm quite worried about this fine I could do without the cost of it I need the money for other things I will have to do without if I pay :-)
  • Take the trouble to read the stickies and go through several threads. Also watch the Watchdog video. You will not be taken to court and stop worrying. It is a scam. Ignore, there is nothing further to say.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!
  • Okay, I know I should. Mrs Hibby has had the reminder from these numpties and it's in the same bin as the first one ( I already knew to ignore).

The car was in a half-empty, free car park with 3 of the 6 stores empty, hence never more than 25% full.

Thanks for all the good advice I have read here today, which has just reinforced my advice to her. And saved a Scot money. Not that we're mean or anything...:T

Yes they can take you to court for what the landowner lost for you overstaying a free car-park by 19 minutes. But I don't think the court will accept a "zero" in the "how much are you claiming for" box :p
