Parking Eye - Nasty tricks

Coupon-mad wrote: »Oh Gawd I really cannot believe that 2 people in one day on here were about to pay Parking Eye! Why would anyone be about to pay a scam fake PCN?
Because they were unaware of the legal situation before coming here. Obviously.I really struggle to understand this sometimes even though I come here every day and tell people they can ignore it, we still get the same questions repeated again and again on a 27 page thread that should have been archived ages ago.
In my case I didn't exactly ignore the PCN. I had already emailed a response, and from what I have read on this forum and elsewhere, that might compromise my legal position. Hence I posted.
Maybe I should have started a different thread as my case was slightly different. But I agree that perhaps this thread should eb archived.0 -

I responded too. I appealed with photos of my son's blue badge and receipts for my £140 spend in the shop in question. After they rejected this, I went so far as to send them a cheque which I then stopped after speaking to the manager of the shop. I'm now ignoring all further contact and am confident that it'll go no further than their crappy threat letters. Don't worry about it.0 -

Er...no it wasn't.
There hasn't been a 'different' PPC case on these threads for about 5000 threads.
They are all PRIVATE AND AS SUCH IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE SOME MORE.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
They could sue on the cancelled cheque but do they want their linen washed in public ?0

Even if you do pay Parking Spy, they will only come back saying that it was late and you owe more money in the hope of sucking more money out of you.0

Hi, I received a PCN this morning from Parking Eye for overstaying my weekly visit to Aldi's supermarket by 38 minutes. As my husband is disabled and has a blue badge I thought I would try and find out if they could do this and how glad am I that I found you. I have ripped up the letter that I was going to send them and will now totally ignore them.0

They can't do that, no. Under the Equality Act, Aldi have to allow "reasonable adjustment" due to your husbands disability. Overstaying a free car park would certainly come under this.
Continue to ignore, hold the paperwork they send you. They will send you more, no doubt. Contact Aldi to inform them you have been illegally harassed, quote the Equality Act to them and tell them if they do not provide you with a suitable response you will consider taking legal action against them. What PE have done is illegal and Aldi are jointly liable.0 -

If your husband needs more time than usual due to disability, notwithstanding the Blue Badge scheme is not legally enforceable by the likes of Parking Eye, any time limit on a disabled person with mobility impairment, may be a breach of the Equalities Act 2010, and as you are unlikely to get anywhere with Parking Eye, as in no appeal, etc you should ignore them, but Aldi is your target as they are jointly and severally liable with the PPC for any breach imho0 -
Yeah write letters or alternatively just ignore and move on...it's your call.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0
