Just received a 'Parking Charge Notice' from Parking Eye.

The parking offence was staying 13 minutes over the stated 80 minute maximum on the Aldi retail park car park in Preston City Centre.

I groaned as I opened the letter and logged on my PC with a heavy heart ready to pay the £50 charge. But first I thought I will check MSE. So here I am. :T

    What should I do?

    A) Do I simply file the letter away and ignore it? Does that work even though there were big signs up saying what the terms of the car park were??

    B) or do I write to them (using the MSE letter template) stating the truth that the registered owner of the vehicle was not driving the car at that time and they are under no obligation to say who was and don't contact us again?

Like people say it's disconcerting when threatening letter pop through your door.

    regards, Shaun

    Nothing, nada, zip, zero, zilch.

..do I write to them (using the MSE letter template) ...

the MSE tempalte is a waste of time and it's widely accepted that MSE MArtin is wrong in his advice [on this matter].

    Ignore, ignore, ignore some more.

    Just a quickie

Now if I did hit the moon with that snowball and Parking Shy took the cars registered keeper to court how would that person get away with it if they did overstate the time on the signs?

Obviously in my case it's easy because I was at work 10 miles away when my car 'allegedly' entered the car park and I banged my head the day before and suffered a 24 amnesia and have no idea who was driving the car. :-)

Someone must be the driver, you know it, they know it, but you are under no obligation to tell them, and although some PPC's quote the RTA and Norwich Pharmacal orders they have no way of forcing you to tell them!

Now if you did hit the Moon with the snowball, as far as Parking spy are concerned you would be the first!
