I've tried that regularly with Parking Eye. I only got a ticket once. They don't like playing.

No one would condone parking in a P&D car park without paying.

The owners do have a right to have a pay & display, if they wish to introduce one. Most I know give you the value back at the tills. You can always choose not to shop there if they use a P&D

I would pay if I wanted to use it, but I certainly would not pay any invoice placed on the car for what ever reason, by a totally powerless PPC.
  • Hi folks,

Recieved a demand from ParkingEye this weekend, delayed by the bad weather here in Scotland and so it arrived a few days after the date for cheaper payment passed.

Before I found this thread, and several others elsewhere, I had emailed their "appeals" address explaining that I had not recieved the notice in time to pay it at the lower cost and that if they reduced it back to the lower amount I would pay up.

I recieved this afternoon a reply from them stating that it would be reduced back to the lower cost of £40 " as a gesture of goodwill" and held at that for 7 days.

Having said in my email to them that I would pay if it was reduced have I boxed myself in to a corner or can I just ignore them from now on as seems to be the advice throughout this thread?

I realise from reading this thread and others elsewhere that I should have completely ignored them but I didn't find this advice until after I had emailed the appeals address.

thanks for any advice that might come.

    Miracle

You haven't boxed yourself in as the only way they could enforce payment is through the courts. I stand to be corrected but Parking spy I believe don't do courts. I would say you are safe in ignoring them from now!
  • Thanks for the quick response and reassurance. I'll sit back and see what turns up in the post over the next few weeks/months.

The goodwill gesture was a sign of their greed they thought they had a live one who was going to pay something.:)
  • Hi all, not sure if I have posted this at the right place, but here goes.......
I have received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye for parking my car too long at a service station. Yes I was there, but I was actually sitting in the car for the majority of the time.

Can I get out of this one??

Yep!! all they will have is a nice little picture of your car entering and then leaving. The next letter might even show you a picture of it!

You may get a few more letters but ignore them. They soon move on to try and gain from someone else who may not be PPC savvy!;)
