I have received my first letter shall i pay them can someone please confirm if anyone has got away with this parking charge from Parking Eye and do they send bailiffs round at all!!!

Everyone "gets away with it". I collect Parking Eye invoices for fun and have a drawer full of them.
It amazes me how many people think that someone can just "Send the bailiffs round" because they say you owe them some money.

it would be better if you chose few random names on this site and send them 10 pound Amazon voucher, they will thank you and appreciate that rather then paying off that fine/invoice.

I too have recently received a notice from Parking Eye for parking for 2hrs in our local Aldi car park betweem 7.30pm and 9.30pm on a Sunday night 2 weeks ago. Is the first and only time we have used the car park out of hours.

Have since been back to see where the sign was as we didn't see it. In daylight hours you can't miss it, but given the fact it was dark and the car park isn't well lit so I can't see how it was brought to our attention. The thing that annoyed me the most was the supermarket does have a car park barrier, but it's never down at night.

Surely there must be some onus on the land owner to attempt to secure the property before they can claim damages?! Sounds like entrapment to me. Either way I'm not paying mine.
  • I had a "charge notice" this morning. I had visited a friend in Preston and we went to Aldi and a number of other shops. I bought something in Aldi, but did not keep the receipt. Anyway, it was bucketing it down with rain and we sheltered in the shop doorway until it calmed down a bit. So I left the car park 9 minutes late. I was totaly unaware of the cameras and was actually looking out for a man with a ticket book lol. Anyway I tried to phone them today and could only get hold of an automated message. I then thought I will look them up on line and came across this website. Needless to say I will no longer try to contact them and as for paying.....:rotfl:Thank you everyone . I will let my friends now about this as well.

This is an old thread, with old advice

    NO REPLIES HERE PLEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • How do these crooks get hold of my name and address? I assumed that I gave this information to the DVLA in confidence, why are they giving it out to these thieves?

Can I ask for the name and address of the owner of any car of which I happen to have the registration number?

You also gave permission on your licence/log book/car tax for the dvla to pass on this info to anyone who can show reason to have it, basically they don't give a monkeys as they get paid £2.50 a time, the scammers hand over millions per year, the dvla are happy to pass on details, and if you send them a few quid they probably give you the details!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

As above the only criteria needed for anyone to get your details from DVLA is "Reasonable cause" so basically anyone could read your VRM and get your details.

I assume they have written to you with one of their pretty checked parking notices? If they have I am sure you have read the advise here to completely ignore it and any further letters.
  • hello friends, i rate u all as been friends as iv read all 9 pages of this thread, obviously someone only reads 9pages of a thread about PCN because they've got one woop woop. however, i found this site, when i got my FINAL NOTICE and they want me to pay £90 for parkin at lincoln university from 10pm till 4am :/ buttttt cos im a nice guy, i replyed to parking eye when i got my first invoice asking for £60 tssk, wasnt paying that, its more than a days wage!

so i emailed them, not through the appeals email address but through the general information address :) cos im starting to get my knickers in a twist cos of all this talk of court ect ect i thought id best get some advice from you lot, so your all in the know heres wat i said........

    To ParkingEye,

I am writing in responce to a letter i recieved from you today 30/11/10. dated 25/11/2010

It states i have a outstanding Parking Charge Notice for the vechile; Citreon berlingo ££££ £££

The reason for the charge is 'ticket expired'. i believe your traffic warden must have made an error on this occasion as i paid over £8 for my parking on the night 14/11/10 it was a short stay from something along the lines of 10pm till 3am the following morning when i was to set off back home. I only remember because i was expecting to recieve change from your machine and it never issued any.

I tried to phone you on the number given on the letter to clear this up, but its an automated system just for payments. So checked your website for other means of contacting you.

    Reguards Mr Ruddy_666

see told you im nice and polite.

only been 19, im a bit of a gonk when it comes to legal jobbies stuff im rather worried about the whole court stuff, and baiscally it messing up my credit rating and therefore making my chances of ever gettin a morgage naff all. now i know u all say ignore religously, but i havnt ignored, so does this mean im royally up the creek with out a paddle of am i jsut in for a bumpy ride???

now iv got my final notice, and they're asking me to submit my evidence for an appeal i was going to be a awkward teenager and ask them for their evidence that my ticket was invaild, that i was driving and watever else i could think up to delay proceedings.

im blabbing. its cos im a little worried, so if u have read this far :) thank you very much, and if you wouldnt mind could you give me some advice from you parkingeye experts on my next course of action. all if any replys greatly appreciated :j

Hi so you have a ticket that was paid for on the night in question, as you have already appealed to their "non successful appeal dept" pointing this out and still had a final reminder sent, proves what numpties you are dealing with.
Appealing in the first place was a waste of time but that's done now. Parking spy make threats they don't do court. They can not place a marker on your credit file as you have never had an account with them. If they did start court proceedings which is as likely as you hitting the moon with a snow ball. They would fall at the first hurdle as you have paid.

I would not waste any more time writing to them, they more then likely don't read them anyway, they will just simply press the button for the next letter in the chain.

So in this order. Do not bother entering into correspondence,Ignore them, Ignore them some more, merry Christmas.:snow_grin

The only Parking spy court case we can find! and they were the defendants.
