Parking Eye - Nasty tricks

Hello
I hope someone can help me...I had been parking in a retail car park since being on Maternity Leave after i initially checked on the retail website which states Free all year round parking on front page.
The other week i received a private eye parking notice stating i had over stayed the 3 hr limit..which took 8 days to get to me by which time i had been back to meet my friend again and had stayed over 3 hrs..
I didn't purposely look for signs but neither did i see any for the months i have been parking there..my friend still parks there and checked for signs..she said she found a small yellow sign at the beginning a little away from the non barriered drive in part but nothing else.
I haven't received another ticket yet nor has my friend..
My worry is that they have mentioned Bailiffs..i know they have to be invited in but still!!
Any advice for a very stressed new mummy?
Any replies would be very much appreciated.

Just ignore them, evidence of my own that they give up after 3 letters if you do. I've not heard from them for 3 months now.0

They may have mentioned bailiffs, but what they fail to mention is that before they can involve bailiffs ALL the following has to happen:
1 They take you to court
2 They win
3 You still don't pay up.
As Parking Eye never go anywhere near a court, and even if they did they would lose, this is impossible.
Three letters is usually their limit. They give up very easily.0 -
Thank you all so much for replying
I have read a few posts on the subject which is why i hadn't paid it in the first place..I think i just needed to get a response for myself iykwim.
I have received 3 letters so far, last one being a final reminder! We shall see!
Thanks again

Parking Eye threats are meaningless. From experience, I can confirm that they will not take you to court.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Hi Stressedk,
I wrote to Borehamwood Shopping Park & complained about Parking Eye demanding money from me & that I was being penalised for my wife spending too much money in their establishment & they replied back that it was my wife's fault for overstaying in their car park & the signs were clear that there is a 3hr max stay. They said they have forwarded by letter of complaint onto Parking Eye (which I did not want them to do as my anger is directed towards them.Needless to say my wife & I will never set foot in there again. We shall take our money elsewhere.)
I have now received the second letter from Parking Eye with the two grainy photos of my car asking for £50 within 4 days or "the first of many additional charges will be made".
"If payment is not received we will pursue this through the appropriate channels"
To other board members-:
The small print states "your details have been provided by the DVLA as you are the registered keeper of a vehicle which has been parked in breach of the Terms & Conditions of a private car park"
Is this have any legal basis ? Would this stand up in court ?
Have I breached any Terms & Conditions?
Many thanks

Good on you taking this to the shop/s involved :T can you make sure that you tell the above also, if enough do it perhaps they will realise that the PPC is actually driving business from them.
Also Parking Eye's terms are meaningless, they can say whatever they like, but their ticket is still unenforceable, you will be wise to ignore everything from them and the bogus letters from debt collectors and solicitors, they will not go anywhere near a court because there is no loss in a free car park, and they would lose if they dared too.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
I checked the official Govt website
"Debt collectors aren't court officials and don't have the same powers as bailiffs. They can't enter your home or seize your possessions. They can only write, phone, or visit your home to talk to you about the debt and how to pay it back."
Regarding Bailiffs it states-:
"Your creditor (the person you owe money to) can make a claim against you in the county court. A County Court Judgment (CCJ) may be made stating that you must repay the debt.If you don’t make the payments ordered by the court, your creditor can ask the court to issue a 'warrant of execution'. This means that county court bailiffs may be called in to help recover the debt.
If you have been issued with a parking penalty charge in the county court, the local authority can use private bailiffs to try to recover the money you owe.
Just posted this to put people's minds at rest0
