Gardening in Yorkshire - what are you doing at the moment?

Over the last few days the front garden was gravelled but has now been changed to concrete (OH won't allow a garden) but i managed to get a circular planter in it where we planted a weeping silver pear as a feature & two olive trees in pots by the door.
My Marmande tomatoes on the south facing windowsill are becoming really big, neighbours walking past have commented on them! but i'm holding out until i can put them in the final containers outside when its warm enough.
Jalepeno, Thai chiilis & Birdseye peppers are also romping away.
Inside the Pinto bean plant (which i have been told i have sown too early) has produced pods :j& is looking great so far.
Outside the garlic, peas & strawberries all in containers are doing well.
Spotted my neighbour putting out there potatoes in planter bags yesterday so has made me feel confidient to put mine out as they have been chitting ages!.0 -
Hey South Yorkshire here. Just been reading up on previous posts and not had any problems with mushrooms but have got mould growing on toilet roll pots- bit of a pain really but think may have overwatered.
Have got peas, beans, mangetout, tomatoes, strawberrys and courgettes going, Courgettes did really well last year but did try cucumbers and got none. Also got one pumpkin growing, which was brill, great for soup and also did pumpkin for halloween.
Have salad going too but never sure about lettuce, never seems to look right but radishes did brill too.
Anyway great to have somewhere to come and chat about these things.

Watch the weather, the night time temps are going to drop rapidly over the next few days  think i`m going to get some plastic bags ready to cover the plants that are in the greenhouse already and i think that i shall delay putting the runner beans out until its passed.
Shame really as they are ready to go out now and i would have had the time to plant them tomorrow.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
I havent done much today other than admire the blossom that is covering my cherry tree's! Everything is looking really lush and my mystery tree (have no idea what it is lol!) will soon be covered in pale pink blossom too.

Will my tiny seedlings of rocket be ok in tropical Leeds? And if, you know, your history...0

Last night planted 25ft tall plantanus, it took an age to dig the hole as I seem to have about a foot of fantastic topsoil, then rocks and clay.
Another 25 foot tree to plant tonight, both bought to assist screening neighbours garden.0 -

You might want to cover them if there is any danger of frost.. Although in tropical Leeds I believe the sun always shines"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Oh yes, sunny all the time. Oh, what's that belting down outside? And if, you know, your history...0

Just been outside and checked my pots...I have seedlings!
I need to move some snowdrops but dont know where to put them.
I wish my back garden was bigger , I keep filling it up!
I have a plan to redo my front garden but am a bit daunted by the idea. We have an large open plan lawn joint with next doors and I want to create a deep flower/shrub bed all the way around our half -so I have more room for my plants of course! But the thaught of all that digging ....if only that extra 30(ish) feet was at the back!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200
