Have you lot seen what Incredible Edible Todmorden are up to?

In other news, I've been brave and planted out all my seedlings, courgette seeds, beetroot, salad - I hold out no hope at all about them growing!

WOW! wish i lived somewhere like that, chances of it happening are slim to none :( I love the idea.

Bertie - I have a clause about chickens in my deeds too, the house was built in the thirties so i was a bit surprised, would really like some too.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Incredible edibles came to Holmfirth last year. I'm not sure most people they approached thought they were sane though.:rotfl:

However the bit by the old bus stop is now looking great with some cabbage and possibly calabrese and some strawberry plants growing in it. Not sure I would eat any of it though after what might have been done to it overnight when the pubs kick out:eek:

another day in the garden for us!

OH is making a bin store for me - got plans to put pots on it so they get good sun and it tidies up the yard a bit. I'm digging a heap of muck into our flower bed - the soil is terrible so I've resigned myself to doing it repeatedly this summer. Fun. Sometimes I just wish gardening just involves sitting outside with a cold beer watching 'stuff happen' without manual labour!

Re-potted loads of things into larger pots today, and I needed more large plastic pots. Stood in Focus this morning looking at £2 for 5 pots and I suddenly had a thought, rang up my Dad, and asked if he had any spare?

Hehe, he told me his car boot was fully loaded with plastic pots for the tip and he was just about to set off!!!

It must have been divine providence.

Now I have hundreds of plastic pot, enough to last years, and my dad saved his petrol money to the tip :rotfl:

Money saving result of my day for me :)

Afternoon all ....hasnt it been a lovely day:D. I finally got some compost so have put lots of seeds in pots. I also found my stash of seeds from last year so have loads to go at (I thaught they had been thrown out!). Dug over my raised beds too.
Restained an old table that we inherited from previous house owners so now I have somewhere to put my drink;)
DH has just gone off to the supermarket to get some tea and some booze so I can sit and admire all my hard work:beer:

there is a garden centre in Rothwell can't remember the name but it's a family run garden centre that sells empty used plug trays there about 20p I think, they need a wash but I cut them down to fit my trays, it's well worth a walk round.

my garden looks lovely today and I'm very happy! Just got to sort out seeds on the window sill now - got some peppers poking through which is exciting. I'm loving this!
