Hiya peeps,
i`ve had a couple of busy mornings in the garden and as a result my runner beans and broad beans are now both outside in their final positions in the raised beds :j
All the tomatoes are now in their permanent pots in the greenhouse and are staked too, need to do the chillies next.
I`ve sown turnip, squash, courgettes, cucumbers, cabbage and cauli in loo roll middles ready to plant out later and the spring onions are finally starting to look a little fatter
We have been eating the lettuce and radish for a couple of weeks now and i need to get some more in before we run out. Some plants have been moved to make new spaces for others - mainly flowers and my sweetcorn has now had the bottle cloches taken off.
The spuds are going great guns and my blackcurrants have tons of buds on themall in all i`m very happy and its lovely to see some sun, hope that the last of the frosts have gone now:eek:
Hows everyone else doing?

I have been trying to get my garden a bit better organised over the past couple of weeks. I have emptied and moved 2 dalek compost bins... used the compost to fill loads of planting bags (ikea) etc and have put my biggest bin in a more accessable place. I have also moved my water butt out of the corner behind our garage. I had to move the gutter round too so it will fill and now I can link the other one to it so it fills up! Just need to get a bit of pipe or something...
I am just waiting now to see if this frost is finished so I can plant stuff out...heres hoping!!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

I have been growing my Bedding Plants under Glass, this week I have been
putting them outside during the Day and bringing them back inside at night.
I keep watching the forecast and was wondering what temperateure would it be safe to leave them outside covered with fleece.
I am in West Yorkshire.:)Member of the £2 savers club.£320

very blustery day here in West yorks. Potatoes are starting to peek through the soil so will cover them with another load soon. Beetroot seems to be surviving which is a relief! Salad is going great guns. Wish I had the capacity to grow more - sigh.0

Its been a lovely day today so I have finished painting my arbour and moved it against the side of our garage wall. The garage is the one thing I dont like about our garden, its built along one side (taking up a huge chunk of garden) and the blank brick wall is not very nice to look at! Now it has a pale bluebell covered arbour seat covered in honeysuckle disguising a big chunk of it and looks lovely....well worth the neck ache!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200

Bertie - i`ve got a nasty concrete sectional garage down one side of the garden tooI hate it but DH won`t get rid of it as its full of his junk
I would love to rip it out and use the concrete base for a huge greenhouse
I keep planting things around it to make the area look a bit nicer, i can`t disguise it by putting anything in front of it though or the door wouldn`t open properly. I`ve painted the door a nice deep green colour, the rest is painted cream. At least it looks tidy now.

I cleaned and stained the decking at the weekend, not good was supposed to be dark brown and its more like ginger brown. So will have to buy more, anyone need 3/4 of a huge tin of ginger brown Cuprinol decking stain?
Also spent a small fortune at the local nursury, 2 more 25ft plantanus trees and some bedding and veggies.0 -
Hiya folks. I'm hardening off my baskets and the plants that are hopefully going to be planted out next week. I do hope we're finished with the cold weather now *crosses everything*0
-
I hope so too because I took the plunge today and the hardened off mange tout have gone out into their final spot and I've put a few lobelia out too. Plenty of spares should the worst happen though.0
