    Mudderssssssssssssssss (((hugs))) welcome home x x x x x

Triker, I agree with you completely, hence my suggestion of taking her to the local police station as a social worker would be called by them and evidence would be given. Before it happened again I'd contact SS too, those little signs there could be even more going on, but I know some people wouldn't.

Hmmmm boys just gone to bed, been total monkeys tonight. DS1s being a bit of a pest at the minute, especially with this whole puberty thing, he knows now things are happening and he's read enough biology books to argue with me if I get anything incorrect in the slightest.....I'd hoped he'd be a late developer but no, 11, oh fun!

If anyone knows any books for boys on how to cope with it, no medical stuff needed just how to cope, please do let me know. He is learning certain types of hair is attatched to the back of your eyes as it makes them water....as he keeps trying to undo the changes. Tried to put that in the nicest way possible.
One day I might be more organised...........

JennyJewell well done with the home cooking - once you get that routine down to a fine art you can add on something else - baby steps!!!! If you dont do it already what about getting all the next days things down the night before - clothes laid out, pocket money lunches etc - that might help in the morning to give you an extra 5 mins to do the dishes or start prepping the tea?
Dusty glad you got some productive time outside - you love it so much - great that the thread has the go-ahead - I am not sure if I can join - I probably wouldnt manage that much.

Mumof2 I wouldnt hesitate I would call the social services now as that child needs care and protection not left out in the cold in this weather - did she have suitable clothing to be left out? if they had known she was in the back garden would it have made them come home any quicker? what a total disregard for her child and you - I will be very surprised if she apologies too - you do not need this - get DH to deal with it. xx ETA i see Triker has said to inform soc services too and thats coming from someone who knows what needs to be done

BenW awh (((hugs))) honey what a difficult time for you - yes getting someone else to cover for you would be good so you can get to see your MUm.

hope I havent missed anyone as I have had to skim some of the thread - i have had a couple of phone calls tonight that have totally thrown me and I am tired - I had intended being in bed an hour agao - oh well my friend needed to get some stuff off her chest.

Lil_me.. I think it is about making it 'normal' seein other people have hair made a big difference to DS2.. he is refusing to shave the bum fluff off his upper lip though and it is driving me insane.. he never looks clean!! I daren't let him lose with a wet razor and the sound of an electric one has him screaming so I dread to think what he would be like with the sensation of one on his face.. but he needs to do something with it soon.. I was really mean and did the big grufty ones on his chin with the hair clippers when I did his hair lol.

KH won't show him what to do and he won't let OH so I don't know what to do with him! I am thinking of going in to a shop and asking which are very very quiet razors and seeing if I buy him one he will use it eventually.

    Good evening all

Could someone give me advice on pastry brushes, please, as I really dislike using and cleaning them. Last night at the supermarket I saw some very strange colourful versions, made of silicone, I think.
If anyone has used these, would you recommend them? They certainly look easier to clean.

    Thank you very much

Pigpen I am not looking forward to that bit, but it's the 'other' hair he's trying to pull out, he knows other people have it he just doesn't want it, hence the eyes watering. I do know a boy who uses hair removal cream on his face, he just can't cope with the shaving thing, his Mam is looking into laser removal for him as he just can't cope with it. Most boys I've come across for facial hair use disposables, more often than not someone does it for them.

Silicone pastry brushes are wonderful, I wouldn't go back to dirty wood/bristles ones now. Yuck. Only thing that occasionally happens with one of them is the end comes off, it's not 'fixed' on so I had to glue it.

I have 100s of books. Even my DH commented on the number of books. I think I might just have a problem - do they do a Bookaholics Anonymous? I cant go past a bookshop without looking and buying something - and then i discovered amazon

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww you are all so lovely,

I can't believe anyone would be so silly as to introduce a rule about a newbie cleaning someone elses house......they'd have to be totally daft (must remember you lot are like elephants...never forget!).

A quick update here: didn't take hospice job (children still too young for me to not put them first), hospice totally understood and are sending me on some additional training for when the time is right which is promising, DS has had a couple of stones so now further tests being done (but, coped with the pain much better and now on immediate transfer to children's ward instead of 3 hours A&E wait), DD been a star through it all and tonight cooked us all a three course meal with DH's help (it was all edible and she's planning another one)....so, I've survived but lots of my house hasn't! You know what i'm like when I'm stressed.....13 charity bags, 1 wall knocked down, no hot spots lurking anywhere. The place is tidy but everyday cleaning needs to begin again.

    Big hugs to you all.....

    love

Could you get DP to have a man to man talk with him about how that that sort of hair is normal? And that pulling it out will not only make it grow back but will also cause it to itch as it does?
