Can I join please?
I am a total newbie!!
We have no beds.....all grassed & paved, due to having a gorgeous bunny
I have a small walk in greenhouse (polythene).
Yesterday we also bought a 4 tier one (not walk in).
At the moment I have sowed in peat pots the following:
carrots
Salad leaves
Radish
Peas
Courgettes
Leeks
Bought Basil & chilli seeds wich are planted in plastic pots.
I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember
Have just re potted the tomatoes in pots to go in the grow bags when the weather warms up.
I have put onion sets in growbags in the greenhouse.
Put garlic in a large pot (not sure if it's too late).0 -

I keep meaning get one of those 4 tier greenhouse thingies from Wilko cos there's a lot of mess in the conservatory from the dozens of pots, I don't know what some of them are cos I didn't label 'em

Hi All,
just came across this page ...havnt been on mse for ages due to uni/work etc (you know how it goes sometimes) ..
i have been wanting to grow my own stuff for years now but have been really busy (to busy to even come onto mse) but i am leaving uni so should have more time ... i have decided now is the time for me to do what i want to do ...and growing things is right up high in the list ...
i have bought plenty of things but have not got a cue what it is i am doing ...my rosemary for instance was turning brown but i have googled it and found out it is known as root rot due to too much water ... so have taken cuttings and lifted out the rosemary and re potted it ...going to replant it when i get my polytunnel up... i want to start growing seedlings etc but the thing is my hubby hates plants totally hates them and he will not tolerate any wee pots in the house ...so i have loads of seeds that need planted but no where to put them just now ...hence the reason for the polytunnel ...hoefully i will get it up soon and start to get things moving ...i feel like i am desperate to start but cant
am still waiting on my cherry trees and pear trees to arrive and am a bit concerned it might be too late to transpant them ...does anyone know if i can do it into April ?
have oads of other questions ...thanks lynz for starting this it will really help me learn and hopefully i will be able to help others0 -

She is totally spoilt & has her own shed!!
I think the 4 tier greenhouse from Wilko's is really good value for £12.99, very neat. They have long planters (troughs) in Wilko's aswell & they fit perfectly on the shelves0 -

I was looking at that over the weekend. Is it stable? Or do I have to weigh it down to avoid it toppling over? £12 is good value just for the staging as I need a bit of space to harden stuff during the day (and to prevent squirrels, birds, cats from eating everything!)0 -
can i ask a few silly questions?
i noticed someone on the last page (sorry cant remember the name) saying they may be a bit late in garic planting ... i still have to plant mine am i too late?
the reason i am not attempting carrots is carrot fly ...but ...was just wondering ... can i grow it on a verandahh in a pot? would that be ok? and am i too late for that now?0
