I like Grow Your Own, and hubby used to buy Kitchen Garden & Grow It & reckons they're OK (mostly because he likes the chicken !!!!!! :rotfl:).
The Sun's come out here today and the wind has died down. You'd nearly think it was Summer again. The french beans outside are in a very sorry state after yesterday's gales - I'm so glad I kept most of them in the greenhouse! Have been feeding the tomatoes today and gave the aubergines & peppers some of the tomato food even though they haven't any flowers yet (I'm ever hopeful). Thae plants are getting quite big now, so I'm hoping that if we have a sunny spell they might decide to flower.heynonnynonny wrote: »That's a shame, I didn't bring any from my old house either. I didn't know anything about plants or gardening then so I threw most away over winter thinking they were dead anyway. Now I actually have a garden I won't be binning fuschias and the like (didn't realise they came back so chucked a load). I can't wait for this flipping pack to turn up either it's making me bad :rotfl:
We never managed to overwinter Summer fuchias even when we lived in Cornwall (mind you, don't think we ever bothered bringing them indoors and we also used to get terrible vine weevil, so that might be why). TBH, even if I had any hanging baskets I don't think hubby would be too impressed if I suggested hammering brackets into our brand new walls!!:rotfl::rotfl:Still no sign of the plants today  getting impatient now0 -

Thanks, well that's my silly moment of the day.
Just had a quick gerdening session as hands were getting pretty cold. I doubt it will be long until it starts raining again anyway and I don't feel like doing it in the rain again. I've planted out some more caulis. They've been sat outside for a while now waiting for me to make some space, so they will be ok, even in this weather. I had a look today and my courgette flowers are male.0 -

Something has been eating my spinach , from the inside of the leaves have been cutting off the affected leaves but the next day more are infected  am going to have to dig them all up today as I dont want my other vege affected has anyone else had this problem?
It looks like its inbetween the leaf like a bubble not very nice have torn it open to have a lokk but cannot see anything!!!!:think::think:
Oh well at least I can use the space for something else so must not grumble too much

It sounds like Mangold fly. Pick off the leaves and bin them. This affects Beetroot as well. I had a quick look on the net and it doesn't say that it attacks anything else.No longer half of Optimisticpair

Don't feed until it's time for them to flower. If you do, they'll just grow more leaves at the expense of the fruit.
It's really difficult being patient but guess how I know this :rotfl:0 -

I think you need to change your privacy settings for this album and set it to 'everyone' as we can't view it at the moment"Your life is what your thoughts make it"
