Problem is what they had was such a poor neglected specimen that I didn't even think half price was worth it for a single leaf in a massive pot.
I guess I'm just going to put my fruit empire opn hold til next year. At least I can ignore it and move on now
The Lidl I visited today had blackcurrant, redcurrant, gooseberry, raspberry and blackberry bushes/canes all reduced to 99p. Varying conditions but I got two blackcurrant bushes with 4 green branches on each and am really pleased. When I prune them next year, I'll stick most of the clippings in the ground to get new bushes for free.0 -
ha finally got around to removing all my unwanted tomato plants. That sounds bad doesnt it. As an idea to how many i had in the greenhouse it took me over an hour!!! Moved my courgette plant which i found underneath them all but think the short time it was out the ground may have done it more harm than good. Most the leave shad wilted the time it went back. Lesson learned is that i think i'm just going to do salads leaves in the greenhouse from now on and perhaps more courgette and cucumbers? and start everything off in pots rather than straight in the ground. Apart form my radishes and sole courgette nothing grew when planted straight in the ground.0

Just to add about my toms - a quick search has come up with a lack of phosphorus as the possible problem but each site I've looked at seems to talk about seedlings and small plants. Mine are pretty big and some are starting to bud, so could it still be a lack of phosphorus in bigger plants?0

I've got pea pod on my plants.. funnily enough though, these are the ones, I left in a pot after planting the others out, and having no where left to plant them.. They are are a not massive pot and and just drooping over the side (then going up a bit).. madness.. all good though, if I get a crop out of them. Do you think I should put into a bigger pot or just leave them to it?0

Argghh, they've sold out of the ones I wanted too! Well, more money for next time (confession for the day - went and blew £3.60 on a copy of Grow Your Own magazine when I was supermarket shopping tonight).

lost all the hanging baskets when we moved, so I've no idea what to pot the basket plants into! Will have to try and find some nice tall pots insteadI'm really looking forward to these plants turning up, talk about obsession! :rotfl:

Oh what a blimmin pain not turning up on time ay, nice of them to let you know
You run? I'm impressed, I can just about manage a fast walk, but not uphill.Husband runs quite a bit though. I have one set of neighbours who are great and two sets who are verging on odd. :rotfl:
When I was out the engineer put a note through the door saying they were running late and will rearrange. I may be having words tomorrow, a phone call earlier would have been nice!Argghh, they've sold out of the ones I wanted too! Aww that sucks, what is it you wanted? I bought that magazine last month, my hospital appointment was over an hour late and I needed something to pass the time. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

:rotfl:I didn't even have that excuse - mil wanted me to get her "womens" magazines and I just couldn't resist the pretty garden pictures - I'm really tempted to take out a subscription (there was an offer somewhere to subscribe and get a free blueberry!).
Can't remember all the seeds I wanted because as they've gone out of stock T&M have just removed them from my basket (gone down from 18 to 3!!!). There was asparagus & globe artichockes, some japanese veg for the winter, and some aquilegias & hardy geraniums. It's probably just as well, there really isn't any space now until the autumn anyway, and who knows there may be some sales at some of the other seed companies yet :j0
