The thomps and morg half price seeds keep calling me though. I've been on twice now, added stuff to the basket and then thought no!

Something has been eating my spinach , from the inside of the leaves have been cutting off the affected leaves but the next day more are infected  am going to have to dig them all up today as I dont want my other vege affected has anyone else had this problem?
It looks like its inbetween the leaf like a bubble not very nice have torn it open to have a lokk but cannot see anything!!!!:think::think:
Oh well at least I can use the space for something else so must not grumble too much

I had the same thing janibrown. It's between the front and back walls of the leaf - like you say it looks like a bubble.
I'd noticed little eggs on the underside of the leaves which i regularly check for now. They look like little white marks. I rub those off and squished any that managed to hatch into the grub stage. Haven't had much of a problem since I started that but it can be a little time consuming.
Images of the damage (3rd image most like what I saw) and the eggs so you can know what to look for.0 -
Morning all!
Hope you're feeling better today Jani, even with your spinach problem.
Well, I'm sitting waiting on a boiler engineer and trying not to buy anything from http://www.thompson-morgan.com/potatoes1/group/potato+%3A+christmas.html but it would be fab to have your own potatoes on Christmas day wouldn't it?
Horrible weather here this morning, wet and very windy, but it's supposed to dry out this afternoon. I hope so because my potatoes need earthed up. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -
Did you go for the offer of Fuschias, Geraniums and Petunias then GarnetLady?
Wet here too so no need to water the garden again! The courgettes look really quite miserable today and the biggest one has lost 3 flower buds, just nipped off and lying in the big pot
Oh well, some new seeds went in and fingers crossed.0 -

Oh dear! They look rather good, especially the new potato collection. Started thinking if we get the big one with a friend that'll be £7.50 for all those potatoes.... Perhaps a quick show to the OH later :rotfl:

You're welcome.I'm still looking, very tempted! (I'm actually looking to see if it'll be cheaper to get the bags from somewhere else and just get the seed potatoes from them...)

The poundshop do pop up bags which are great for potatoes. Not sure that that works out any cheaper though. They can be grown in old compost bags or bins though if you have any of those?"Live each day as if it were your last and garden as though you will live forever"
