The problem with rhubarb in my head is that you can't get a harvest off it the first year, you're supposed to let it establish itself and either take no harvest or a really light one.

Since everyone's got pics, I've started keeping a photo record every couple of weeks. Photobucket Link for the pics today :)

    Great pix.

I didn't know about not picking rhubarb in the first year and picked most of it. It doesn't seem to have affected the plant as it is now in its 3rd year and cropping really well.

To be honest I've seen it on Gardening shows and read about it, but it's just one of those Conventional Wisdom things. It's my first year growing anything so I'm really having to just take advice as being true because I don't know myself. If I thought I'd get away with enough rhubarb off a plant for a jar or 2 of jam I'd have bought a plat months ago.

Found 3 beginnings of tiny green figs just on the brown turkey fig I bought earlier in the year as a small twig, excellent!

Ahh don't worry and post what you feel like. I know it doesn't feel like it at the time but we all have bad days / problems. Yes some are worse than others but the feelings are often shared by many so don't feel alone. Sending smiles and hugs your way

I saw the citrus tree post but have not opened the thread yet, simply because I daren't. Bad bad ausmummy :D:D

Cannot believe how big a couple of my potted courgettes are, like a post previous a foot wide and leaves actually bigger than my hands, the beasts!! Lots of little buds gathered around the main stem can only presume flowers but not sure at this stage, they must be though!

Off to look at the citrus tree post :o:A

Go on - did you order some???? :D

Ok so I checked on my cucumbers and seem to have about 6 or so flowers, izzwizz told me yesterday that if they're female flowers they will have a tiny cucumber behind the flowers and I've looked at all of them and can't see any cucumbers, tiny or otherwise! So what now? Sorry to sound stupid but do some cucumber plants just never produce cucs?

    Advice needed please!! Thanks :)

Haha, oh goodness no, if I could afford I'd have got them though. I already have a calamondin which is a kind of orange so will make do with that for now. The thomps and morg half price seeds keep calling me though. I've been on twice now, added stuff to the basket and then thought no!
