My potatoes have started to appear! I'm very happy, esp as I think I may have had a 'moment' when planting... Got the strangest feeling that I planted them upside down.
And I have my first flower out on my toms. Do I start feeding them now, or wait 'til there is more?
Ps - I got my tomato feed in Poundland. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

Easy guide to growing chillies

Depending on the type most grow to 12"-18"-24" tall.
You can grow them in 6" pots, but most of mine are in 9" and a couple that are several years old (save you best ones and bring indoors over winter, get a head start the following year ) are now in 12"0 -

Read my post No.1924 a few posts back, includes real photo showing you what to pinch out.
Chances are your ones aren't big enough yet to need to do it, as mine aren't.0 -
You're very welcome
Have a guess at how my french beans are doing???? Bl**dy nothing :rotfl:, well except for the one keeping the peas company and thats doing very well. May I enquire about yours (she says through gritted teeth!!!!!!!!!)?
Thanks zippychick, der - never thought about looking at the tutorials!!!. Well don't lose hope on the chilli front, mine grew slowly but surely but not at anywhere near the pace of say courgettes or cucumbers. Let us know how they go?
Got 5 now. Honestly do not give up I was at my wits end and then they all popped up at once. They are in my conservatory getting half sunlight half shade.Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0 -

I am not sure what the flexitubs are that people keep mentioning (or where to get them). I have courgettes and a cucumber to plant out and no room in my raised bed so thought they might be suitable as people seem to be planting courgettes in them.
Could someone help, please0 -

Thanks heynonnynonny tho I really don't think they're going to come up as I must have sown them oooh about 5/6 weeks ago (like you, in my conservatory where they still are). But I'm really pleased (though un-gritted teeth!!!) for you.
There's always next year and tbh they're my only failure apart from the butternut squash so I can't complain although I frequently do :rotfl:0 -

I guess its the large tubs they sell in Asda and other places such as B&Q, but asda being the cheaper for them.
If you have no room, you could try the material bags specifically made for vegetables growing. Seen them in Wilko, £shops and B&M. I have not used them so cant comment how good they are.0
