Am off to DIY store shortly - can someone advise on plant food please? I have tomatoes, french beans, courgettes, strawberries and raspberries growing - is there such thing as a multipurpose plant food? Not really sure what to get x

There is such a thing as multi purpose plant food. Growmore is one i have been using and it is for fruit and for veg. There are quite a few at diy stores :)

I bought my Growmore box for about £1 from B and M.

So do I pot them onto a flexitub now (which is where they will end up) or do I put them into a 9" pot for a while first?? I have some morrisons buckets left so I could put them i n that.

In fact could I just grow them in the morrisons buckets? Or are they too small? I have 4 plants and 6 buckets so I could do it.

I'd put them in a flexitub if you've got that spare. If you're really pushed for space, you can grow them in the morrisons bucket. I grew mine in containers last year and was forever watering them. I didn't get a massive glut mainly because I think they were restricted to containers.

Sowed some more seed this morning. Boltardy Beetroot, Swiss Chard, Red Cabbage, Dwarf Borlotti Firetongue and Brussels Sprouts.

The weather has been much cooler today, not complaining though, hopefully the nights will become cooler now too.

All fruiting stuff I feed with tomato feed. Everything else gets a seaweed feed or nettle tea.

In tubs or in the ground?

multipurpose compost provides food for up to 6 weeks and then you can start feeding them then. If plants look a bit sad, I'd do a dilute seaweed feed. If you start feeding fruiting plants too early, they will produce more greenery at the expense of the fruit.

Like I say a lot on this thread, plants want to grow, you're just helping them along!

    In tubs Misskool :) I don't have a garden.

I'm totally petrified at some things - for example, pinching out side branches on tomato plants. Mine are so small, i am finding it hard to distinguish the main stem, so am scared of pinching out the main stem. They seem so tiny and will never grow to anything!

Food wise - I have a bag of stuff which includes these

    Richard jacksons plant food

    Spray n grow micronutrient
