Anyway, just checked gardeners delight tomato sowings, 1 has just sprang out of nowhere, really got fingers crossed hoping I can make a success of this.
Off to have a look at last couple of pagesAhhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0 -

The greenhouse has a few rips and I've used homebase garden tape (bit like duct tape) to fix it and hold some of the poles together. I was going to get a new cover, but it was going to cost nearly as much again. Not the most attractive but it works!
Just had another trip to Homebase and B&Q. Got some spring onion, silverskin onion, leek and pumpkin seeds.
Ooh, it's just started thundering and lightning here...
It is upright...for now :rotfl:
That's a shame that you lost some of your little plants, I knocked over 2 trays full of seeds onto the lawn fighting with the greenhouse, left them there they may end up seeding somewhere. I didn't want to pay £4 for a new cover so like you say taping up is the best option. Just been to check it..it's steaming hot. I bought a small tomato tumbler plant for 99p which is there now as well as several trays of spinach and salad leaves. Yum, would like to have done leeks but not got the groundspace. May need to remove the lawn haha!Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0 -

Did you get the tumbler from Homebase? I got my tom plants from there and they all seem to be doing okay. I've just repotted the last of them and stuck them in the greenhouse. I know it's a little early but I've checked the weather and it should be okay for the next couple of weeks.
I've been getting really paranoid about the little black flies that have been hanging around them. I don't think it's actual blackfly (or at least I hope not!!), they ignore the toms for the most part and spend a lot of time on my window. I took off as much of the old compost as I could just to be on the safe side and binned it. They've been around for a couple of weeks and I can't see any damage to the toms, so fingers crossed. (DH has just been on a killing mission! :rotfl:)
I'm going to try leeks in the now infamous black buckets. Nothing ventured and all that!
My husband did ask if we were gong to have a lawn by the time I'm finished with all the pots and containers. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

Where I live, a nursery has a big stall in the centre of town so I got it from there BUT I did see them in the homebase catalogue which I was studying intensely too!! Oh god no I'm scared to keep the tom plant out for too long in case of disease. Worst will be if anything gets to the ones I'm growing from seed well they are my babies after all :rotfl:
Ah of course, they should be just deep enough!! I love love love leek, I may try. I do have a lot of black buckets to use up :rotfl:Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0 -
i think i need to get me off to morrisons pronto for these buckets ... all of a sudden there is life in tubs and i am gonna have to replant soon ... and sow again .. oh i like this it's fun to watch and learn0

I know the above one was spam but has anyone seen this website? I don't know if they are legit but seem ok....? Anyone had any dealings with them?

Everything is doing nicely it seems and whilst in Tesco earlier I picked up some pea seeds too! They were very much an impulse purchase, but am looking forward to planting them in a planter that Hubby made for me.
Was most amused to see that pea seeds look just like dehydrated peas! I never thought they'd look like that!0 -
