Got 2 in the fridge, and still thinking what to do for today's dinner.
Just one think came to my mind now...
It used to cost 97p in ASDA, now it's £1.47. :shocked:0 -
Turkey is great in a thai style curry - no reason why you couldn't use a whole leg for it, cooked slowly.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

saw richard corrigan do this on the tv with a turkey leg::
bone it and remove all sinewy bits and the skin.
put it betweek layers of film and bash it!!!!! flatten it.
ok.make yourself some nice stuffing, maybe a nice meaty one but whatever you like or fancy.
lay it down the centre of the flattened meat, then roll it up and wrap it in streaky bacon, smoked is good.
then wrap in foil and cook in the oven til its done. slice to serve.
mine was amazing. really nice, especially if you use a really tasty, herby, oniony stuffing.0 -
sounds good, what i have decided to do is quater some potatoes, brocolli, quater an onion rosemary and thyme gravy granules and placing the turkey leg on top.
i hope it tastes good lol may buy a turkey leg more often looks like a lot of meat on there and its cheap.Trying to make big cut backs!!!

Hi dom,
As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to the main thread on turkey legs to give you more ideas for next time.

I got a turkey leg and thigh from morrie's on yellow sticker today. I've separated the thigh from the drumstick and wrapped them separately for freezing but what do I actually do with them?
I live with a flat mate but we don't cook together so i am only really cooking for me. If I freeze the turkey now can I refreeze whatever I make it into once it's cooked?
Thanks for any help0 -
You can freeze it as far as I know. If you want a recipe, try marinading it with honey, lemon and garlic and put it in the oven, I use this for chicken and its lovely0

Turkey legs and thighs are great for roasting. Sadly I can't recall timings but I'm sure you can find them on the net.
Afterwards, you can freeze the leftovers for later use in any of the Rubber Chicken thread's recipes (can someone link, please? I can't. Am on my phone. Ta.) Save the bones and use them to make stock/turkey soup."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Hi GlasweJen,
The turkey will be fine to freeze raw and then once you've cooked it it's fine to freeze it again. This thread should give you ideas for cooking it:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.
