Hmm but really the 12 month deal is £40 per month... (yes yes it may say the "effective cost" is £30, but when you are paying monthly, you will have to budget for £40).
12 months for £480.....
Hmm, but no! This is a 3 month free deal, not cashback. In my experience that will mean the first 3 months free, so no budgeting. If need be put the £30 effective cost per month in a kitty and then towards the final 9 months payments, sorted

The 3 months free appears to be by redemption.3 months FREE line rental (Discount worth £120.00!)
For 3 months of your contract line rental is FREE! (Thereafter £40.00 per month). That's a saving of £120.00!
Your £120.00 saving is available by redemption in 3 stages: £40.00 at month 6, £40.00 at month 9, £40.00 at month 12
Payment by direct debit is mandatory.
Itemised billing is not included. (Can be requested at a charge of £1.50 per month)
This is a minimum 12 month contract.0 -
I am sorry about that!
You are correct i assumed that as it said 1/2 price on the 1st and 2nd page it does not mention redemption i stupidly assumed it was not via redemption!!!
That is quite misleading of dialaphone, who'd of thunk it from these!
Still means you only have to budget for 6 months and not the whole year. Anyways i think it is still a very good deal as it is 12 months and phone is worth £500+. I suspect most people looking at or going for a HTC Desire or Legend can afford to be able to pay the extra £10 per month and then claim it back, but if not sorry if got your hopes up!0 -
Yesterday, I installed the 2 apps that give you voice to text so that you can speak a text message, and also do voice searches through Google. It was my first go at installing something not from the Android Market, but I'm pleased to say it was relatively simple and works fine.
First, I installed the VoiceSearch_2.1.apk file from HERE I did this by going straight to the file from my phone, and then saving the file using Astro. I had to untick a box to allow non Android Market apps to be installed on the phone, but if you're a bit nervous like me, you can always reset the permissions afterwards.
Next, I installed the modified keyboard app from HERE The way I understand it, this is just the standard HTC Sense keyboard modified to allow the voice button and also smileys and other stuff. I couldn't find an easy way to download this via the phone, so I saved it to my laptop, and bluetoothed it to the phone.
Once installed, I couldn't get it to work, but after a good read around the forums, I found you should first reboot the phone (switch it off and on again lol), and then go to any box that has text input (I used the text messaging box.) If you do a long press on the box, it gives you an option to switch over to the modified keyboard which has the speech button.
Hope this helps others who like me aren't that 'Techy.'0 -

Me and my OH got this deal, mainly as we both wanted a 12 month contract in case we get our visas to move to Canada next year. Dialaphone are out of stock expecting a delivery on Friday so we get delivery on Wednesday.0

I'm still confused. You stil have to pay each month and then claim it back. The last claim back isn't until after the contract has finished.
So you will pay £40 for ten months, then if you have saved your two cashbacks, you'll get two months free (from using the cashbacks to pay), and the last month will come back some time afterwards.
How are you only paying for 6 months...
(not trying to pick a fight, just curious, I already got mine for the £10 t-mobile deal and £160 for the phone....)0 -
