As I understand it if you buy directly from T Mobile they will put you on the 3Gb fair use package. It appleis to all Android phones on T Mobile. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I have the Desire on the Flext 35 plan and it comes with 3GB of data so that should not be a problem.
A good friend of mine has just got this as a deal from Orange. The Desire on Panther 35 (18 month contract) for £25.00 pm. Seems like a good deal to me.0 -

I work in EC1 and my Desire alternates between 3g and H inside the building. Once outside, I get H virtually all the time. It's s**t hot fast!0 -
Interesting, I haven't heard back from 3 yet either I'll give them a ring tonight, I'm sure I'll get a similar response - stock shortage craziness! new customers only, pah
otherwise i am moving to another network even if it costs me more.bubblesmoney :hello:0 -

I've been wanting to get the Desire on O2 as an upgrade but they seem to be taking forever to actually get the phone out and judging by the blog post posted by Arch_23 the prices when they do finally release it wont be anything special
T-mobile seem to be adjusting their prices to match the popularity of the Desire and it wouldnt surprise me too much if O2 did a bit of tinkering themselves before release date.
the best deals i've found so far (for a fairly lowish user such as myself) are:
300 mins/300 texts/unlim internet on T-mobile - £15 p/m rental, £120 phone cost, £25 quidco cashback over 24 months which i make to be just under £19 per month offered on buymobilephones.net
300 mins/unlim texts/internet on Orange - £22.50 p/m line rental, £100 phone cost, £160 cashback through quidco, 2 months again which this time i work out as £20 per month through the Orange website (not sure about their internet though, it says 500meg fair usage and i've heard they are flexible and let you go over but i'm still a bit wary with an android phone)
the best 18 month contract i've found is 300 mins/300texts/unlim internet on T-mobile - £25 per month, free phone, £30 cashback and a free car charger on Mobilephonesdirect averaging a little over £23 per month or if you are willing to lock in for 24 month on this deal you can get 600mins/500 texts instead
The Vodafone deal on their site comes in at just under £24 per month for 600 mins/unlim texts/internet (but 500mb fair usage like orange) with the £150 cashback on quidco but i'd still be worried about the data and also i can't get their site to load up any other deals for the Desire other than the 3 it shows when you first go to choose a tariff for the phone (anyone else get that or just me?)
Going by the upgrade deals offered to me so far this year by O2 i think i'm better off going with one of the above (the 18 month one from mobilephonesdirect is catching my eye at the moment) as i can't imagine them matching/beating those deals by much.
Anyone found any better deals about at the moment (i know better is all relative but for those kind of bundles/prices)
edit: bit of an essay that but just wanted to share what i've found and hope it helps someone, especially now T-mobile have taken the lower price deals off their website and want to charge extortionate amounts for the phone - even on the higher tariffs0 -

H = HSDPA also known as 3.5g0 -
I got the same thing with the desire's tarriffs on voda Alex.... I called them and they told me that when buying online they are the only available tarriffs.... not sure whether the woman understood what i wa asking though!
My upgrade is due tomorrow so i think i'll be taking the plunge and going with a desire first thing
Anyone know if voda has them in stock yet?0 -
Can someone tell me if the HTC desire's available from Orange and T-Mobile are the same colour?
I went to both stores earlier and the colours looked slightly different - not sure if it was just the lighting in the stores?0 -

There are rumours (Unfortunately, there are just rumours) that Vodafone will have it in stock within the next couple of days.
It was posted on the vodafone e forum for the HTC Desire, and wasn't locked straight away so that would suggest it's true. Or here's hoping anyway0
