I did buy a screen protector for it, though. That arrived today, so at least I can pretend I've got one

it is available from some three shops, atleast where i am based. but not for upgrade deals via upgrades dept. it is only for shop sales with same deal as for new customers.

isnt that for the nexus one? are all the ports and buttons on the nexus one and desire the same. if not then this case might not fit properly.

It is for the Nexus One but apparently it fits OK. I've ordered one as for £1.79 delivered I think it's worth it until I can find something designed specifically for the Desire.

Over on Android Forum there's been a lot of discussion about it. Some people are happy with the fit, others less so. Apparently the hole for the speaker is a bit small but it's easy enough to make it bigger.

Just a quick update.

I have the Desire now and it is a fantastic device, I can't believe anyone would spend hundreds extra for an Iphone given what this little box is capable of.

Anyway having purchased it through mobilephonesdirect I gave it a few days after my old number transferred and rang today about the 1gb - 3gb contract problem.

T-Mobile staff could not have been more helpful, they confirmed the contract was incorrect, immediately upgraded it to 3gb and offered me free unlimited landline calls as part of the internet booster at no extra cost.

What a great company, plus the assistance was very pleasant and obviously somewhere in the UK.

A happy T-Mobile customer.

I'm getting a download speed of 9050 Kbit/s and an upload speed of 223.6 Kbits/s.

Yes but pressed the * button part way through the call when I was directed to a short queue and spoke to an operator.

It looks as if the screen protector you are posting about is not EXACTLY for the Desire!? I also think that, for what you are getting, it is expensive!
