Thanks for that. With being able to upgrade since Feb, and my contract with orange ending in May, I have been waiting waiting and waiting for the Xperia X10.., but it has Android 1.6 as an OS.., and having seen a warning that this may NOT be upgraded later on.., I'd think I'd prefer to go for this phone. SE didn't exactly impress me with their out of date scripted replies to my mail asking when the X10 was going to be released either. So HTC Desire is probably going to be front runner after I've checked it out a bit more thoroughly.

    That will have been me.

I didn't say SE WON'T provide an upgrade they may well do so, I said in the past they promised WM6.5 for the X1 then changed thier minds.

They may follow up on Android but I'd suggest you assume they won't just in case.

I've just been up to the t-maobile shop and they had an X10, due to be released on Friday too. The guy was majorly pushing it ahead of the Desire. Gave me a wee shot and it looked quite good but I'll wait till I see the Desire
  • Just ordered the Desire.

£20 a month for 18 months and £95 for the phone. Sorted.

Cancelled my MPD order and went for the Tmobile direct 24 month £15 deal with unlimited landline booster, even got £20 off the handset so it's cost me £469 in total over 24 months, less than £20 a month for 300 texts, unlimited landline numbers and 3gb internet. Happy or what!

Hi all, read on here that few people have managed to get the phoen for free on 18 month contract direct with t-mobile. Just wondering whats the best way for me to go about this

    I'm interested in:

    300 mins
    300 texts
unlimited interent it's adversited as £25 per month plus £95 for handset, I don't mind paying £25pm but refuse to pay £95 for handset espcecially seeing that MPD only charge £5.99 for handset but with only 1GB internet.

Whats the best way for me to haggle with t-mobile to get the phone for free or cheaper than £95, I have been out of contract with t-mobile for last 2 years, been on a crappy tariff since 2003 (700 off peak mins to t-mobile/landline for around £15pm)

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

Just ring them up and say you want to cancel... they will ask why... tell them about the deal on MPD (don't mention the 1GB internet bit... its just "unlimited internet" ;) )

They will either match it or not.
