    Loving this thread!
Haven't posted here before, but wanted to say that I have two clothes airers that were found in a skip and donated to me - absolutely nothing wrong with either of them. Also, my sister found two carrier bags stuffed full of clothes and shoes in the bin area of her flats, which she passed over to me. Much of it didn't fit, but I got a scarf, belt, tracksuit bottoms and a vest top that did. The rest went to charity.
Not averse to using things found in the bin!

I moved house just before Christmas and the previous owner left me (not in contract) 3 lovely mirrors, pair curtains, step ladders for loft, loads of paint which will be great for touching up and a vase.
I have ready for 3 seperate friends, 1 bag of clothes, 2 bags of toys and a pair of brand new next skinny jeans my son refuses to wear (he took the tags off:mad:)
We also put our packing boxes and bubble wrap on freecycle and made someones day:)
I often look in the skip at school and most recent find was some unihoc sticks which i will use for row markers on my allotment after my young ds poked his eye on a cane after the plastic bottle had blown off!

  • Not sure if this counts but here goes, i follow a craft thread and the lady is amazing, her creations are brilliant, anyway i commented on one of her projects saying i would love to something along the same lines but didnt have a cutting machine to make the shapes i needed. She asked me to email her and as kindly offered to make the shapes i need even offering me a choice of colour card.
    She is a absolute star.
I also gave away 2 jars of our homemade beetroot to a friend.

  • We have 20 chickens that provide us with eggs for ourselves and we sell the surplus. We needed new housing for them and asked around people we knew. My other half's old boss had a couple of old caravans on his land so we asked if we could buy one from him.
He said we could have it for free, so our chicken now sleep in a four berth caravan !!! Brilliant and free :j

Great thread! We were recently given a new kitchen that was only 3 years old! It looks brand new now it's fitted with new worktops. Also, OH's work were throwing away a huge flat screen TV as it didn't appear to be working - OH spent 1/2 hour fixing it and now it works perfectly so will be great in the spare room to keep our students happy in the summer :)

We were given a lift to/from a party on Friday night and are repaying the driver with some freshly laid duck eggs as he wouldn't accept petrol money :)
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D
