I found a scruffy-looking coffee table in the street - thought it looked like an Ercol table, and decided if it was still there when I came home from work in the evening I'd take it in. It was, so I did (and put a note through the neighbour's door to make sure they'd meant to throw it out). Spent a bit of time cleaning it and putting Danish oil on, so it now looks good. Saw the same thing refurbished in the Margaret Howell shop selling for £400 ! so worth all the effort.0

Great thread budgeteer and well done for appearing in this week's Martin email.
I was thinking about getting a static exercise bike - ummed and ahhed - looked at cheapie ones on the Asda website and they were out of stock. So thought oh well I will get round to getting one. Then I see one in a charity shop - couldn't believe! Money for them, bike for me. Fab!
I know on the declutter thread someone said how they put a card in a local shop saying FREE TV, which they needed to get rid of now they'd upgraded it - within an hour someone rang up for it as their's had just gone wrong. We've done the same - put odd furniture outside with a sign on it saying help yourself and it always goes!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Ooh, thanks for letting me know 'I'm' thread of the week! I feel quite chuffed:D
Well done to you too on your fab exercise bike. I like the idea of putting 'help yourself' signs on your furniture. It's a good way of helping your community isn't it? I hope more people do this0 -

I got a beautiful large glass cake stand for nothing from work the other day because the glass dome lid had got broken. It has come in handy for a gift for my cake making mad DIL.
I am always in charity shops and have managed to get loads of fabric and very good (almost new looking) duvet covers for all my sewing projects and the most I have paid is £4.00 for nearly 5 meters of fabricGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

There was a pound coin left in a small Mr T shopping trolley. I am finding quite a bit change on the ground too lately mostly put it in a charity box in a shop though.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Some rosemary from the wild area of my local park for my roast chicken tonight.
That's not naughty is it?Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Several ladies's mags from freecycle and some buttons for my craft stash that my colleague was going to throw away.
