Well, i'm always a cheerful giver but quite happily receive too and so i was delighted to accept a gift form my uncle yesterday...he has brought a new TV so gifted us his 'old' (approx 2 or 3 years!) tv...which just so happens to be a 42 inch flatscreen tv
Oh my goodness, everyone on telly looks as though they are actually in my living room. Last night was watching Question Time and David Dimbleby and the rest of the panel looked absolutely massive! i will get used to it i'm sure. I'm certainly very fortunate!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

A lovely neightbour gave me a load of weaning pots for me to make ds some puree.
I also bought the Art of Knitting magazine (not very mse) but it came with knitting needles, two lots of yarn and an instructional dvd.0 -
I got a complementary copy of sewing today magazine with a free patern for a tunic top in the centre. (I have some spare fabric so I will make it next week)0

Someone listed 10 black bags for car booter on freecycle the other night, and I was lucky enough to get them.
Brilliant stuff, including enough baby/toddler toys to fill 2 Ikea bags, which will go in the loft. Some baby cot bedding, including toddler quilt & pillow.
Gave 3 black bags to one of the local charity shops.
Saved some bits to sell on Ebay etc.0 -
My dd 15 is doing a creative media course at school and for part of it has to recreate a outfit from a film, which means sewing, she asked my MIL if she could use her machine and try it on there, not only did she say yes, but told us to keep it as she has never used it.:j
Think we now need lessons on how to use it lol.
I have never been able to sew but has always wanted to but couldn't justify the cost of a machine to try and then give up.
Now hopefully i can learn. :T0 -
Yesterday I got a wheelbarrow out of a skip (with permission)

while spring cleaning, I have found a bread maker I was given 2 yrs ago but never touched, so am going to dust it off and give it a blast :j0

Today in TK Maxx I got a hand soap dispenser for 20p (blue - matches our bathroom too) - original rrp £16, TK Maxx price £8 (who pays £16 for a little pot with a pump in it)! :eek:A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

not having to buy much in the shops coz the veg patch is doing well. 2 plastic tubs for keeping screws in and 6 empty wine bottles for my home made wine.0
