Discovered that the 2 in 1 cleaner that feels like Nitromors on my face is brilliant for cleaning up odd stains and for wiping up surfaces! So much better than just chucking it out!0

Hi all!
One of my friends had a clear out, I now have aquired;
One table runner for teh kitchen table (really pretty with sunflowers), an embroidary kit, some mini gift bags and ribbon (perfect for my xmas homemade truffles) and some wool and knitting needles.
Then another friend bought some posh lancome skin cram and got a gorgeous free gift of mini make up and skin stuff which came to me! Yay! I will give my mum the skin things as she cant really affort that sort of thing, and I will keep the make-up!
Oh, and a brand new IKEA sideboard, my colleague at work was throwing out!
I have done rather well today!0 -
I got a boxed unused Vacu Vin pineapple slicer from the charity shop for £1.49. We don't tend to eat a lot of fresh pineapple but I may buy more now that I have this if they are on special in the summer.
Also got a nice long sleeved red Marks and Sparks tagged t shirt from there for £1.0 -
Today I got some briliant bargains from the parish Christmas Fair: A tapestry knitting/crochet bag on a stand with a variety of wool included...rather like this one...for £3. The best thing is i didn't even pay for it, Mum paid for it for me. I did buy a few things though, a Jamie Oliver hardback book : Jamie's Kitchen £1, a paper back book about Hannah Hauxwell £0.50p, a plate, without any stamp or pottery firm details with a lovely image of jemima Puddleduck on the front of it. Some enormous stacks of notpad paper £2.40 the lot. I am a very happy person with all my bargains. idonated loads of stuff for the fair so it feels realy good to be able to drop on things i like, at such good prices :-)Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
I spent £5 on 10 meters of extra wide thermal curtain lining. There were lots of stalls doing normal 50p per meter tat but this was languishing at the bottom of the pile, a hidden gem.
I'm lucky enough to live within easy travelling distance of the rag market in Birmingham, I'm well chuffed. It's easily enough to line my living room and bedroom curtains with enough left for me to c0ck up as i inevitably will.0 -
Went to my mums for sunday dinner (which is frugal in its self) but came home with a salad, pancakes and left overs. Had a bra from asda for £3 and joggers for son for £2.50. Also I asked my sister if she would make cakes for our school fayre on thurs and said I would give her the money for the ingredients, well she text me today to say she had got the stuff and that I didn't have to pay her. The cakes will be sold on and the school will benefit. All in all a good day.Have 3 DS: 18, 5 & 3. Would love a 4th.

Free cinema tickets for me and DH. Not the greatest of films, but ok-ish. Good for an outing on a cold Sunday morning.Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
