700 metres of aran weight pure wool yarn, hand dyed with indigo by a friend of mine who was destashing. Lovely colour.
And I found 20p in the M&S car park. I always pick up 1p and 2p pieces in the street and put them in our collection jar for the local cat rescue but I don't often get a 20p.Val.0 -
Tonight went to a friends house where she was holding a clothes swapping session and as Ive had a change in lifestyle ( am having to watch the pennies now) I took along a suitcase of clothes that were too big for me.
Came home with 2 sets of jamas never worn, fleecy and warm ones too, pair of trainers as Im a size 6 and they fit lovley and are almost like a walking boot so they will be well used and a lovley cherry red N*xt hat scarf and gloves that someone had asa gift and didnt like the colour,, my clothes were from my previous life of more money than sense and went to good homes, and the best swappie was I went in my brown leather jacket and came home with a lovley long black leather parka type jacket...I only joked with the woman that was wearing it and said fancy swapping coats lol Ive always wanted one of those, nearly fell over when she said yes..so I grabbed it and it fitted so a good night.
Wish I was stick thin these poshies were virtually giving away or swapping there clothes, but hen sparkley tops and thin clingey dresses are no good to me down the allotment..and weeding and babysitting...
Hope to go to one of these again nearer the summer as I have still some summer stuff I could swap..

A jam jar, saved by a friend at work. Doesn't sound much but it's a posh one so it will be used for the lemon curd I plan to make my brother for Christmas.0

Four glossy magazines from mum, which I never buy as I think they are overpriced. Also one had a special offer for 3 books for £4.50 so I have ordered those too.
Also a £5 voucher from Debenhams.GC 2011

Please can I join in?
Receiving my order of four pairs of Evans wide-fitting socks from the recent Evans glitch for only £1.40 total. Was so excited that I actually received my order (one of few it seems) and even happier to find they fitted perfectly. I have very big, wide feet and usually end up wearing men's socks so to find some pretty girly ones is quite a treat!
Being giving some windfall apples (Bramleys) from a work colleague. Made a pie filling and popped in freezer for later.
Have a £5 Debs voucher to use at the weekend...if they are still honouring it.0 -
I have done quite well today, a brand new set of curtains, i put them up 2 weeks ago for my dad, but they wasn't wide enough for his living room, so today when i rehung the ones we had taken down and washed he offered them to me,:j not sure where they are going yet but they will be used.
Also plant trays, labels and a over the shoulder garden sprayer also off my dad.0 -

Used my and my husband's Debenhams £5 vouchers to get my kids some free stocking fillers today. Found some manky old jam/mustard at the back of the fridge and washed and scrubbed them, and now have more jars for my jams and marmalades. Also picked up 2 of the half price M&S chickens today, both came in at under a fiver. That's meat for 6 meals!2021 wins: eco-friendly bedding bundle0 -
Hi, first post on this thread, hope it is ok to join.
A stack of mags, about 50, from SIL via mum, I will then pass them on to MIL and when she has finished with them I will take them to a local nursing home the ladies there love them.
Well read when they end up in the recycle bin :TI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
