  • I went to a local charity shop and got a Roxy Cardigan for £5, it's really heavyweight and warm as it contains wool, perfect for winter and could even be worn as a coat, and it's in fantastic condition, so a much better deal than the supermarket cardigans where prices seem to be going up and up! Will be checking the charity shops more often now.

Ohhh good result! They've probably got to have fire doors if they are adding a storey.

Today's car boot sale bargain is perhaps not very well suited to the OS forum, we bought a a Nintendo Wii, 2 golf clubs, 2 tennis rackets one wheel, Sports & Play for £30!! I've been looking longingly at one for years but as it's only us two and no kids it seemed a bit indulgent (plus I know I'll play with it for a few weeks and then get bored :rotfl:) but for thirty quid it's worth having!

My arm now hurts from playing tennis :D

Also bought some more domestic thingies - nice yorkshire pudding tray for 30p :D

Gave a plant away on freegle today - a frugal find for someone else.

Also found our old cordless rechargeable strimmer in the shed which I'd forgotten about, charged it and it still works!
Even better - I also found the spare trimmer line for it in a cupboard in the kitchen!

I had to go to the sorting office at the PO today to pick up an undelivered parcel. Noticed as I walked in the pedestrian path they had an elderflower tree in the shrub part absolutely groaning with berries. So I asked the bemused postie if I could pinch a couple of tubfulls. He was quite happy (though still bemused) for me to take them so as I always have tubs and such in the back of the car for the allotment. I came away with three brimming boxes full of elderberries. I've had to stick them in the freezer though as I've got no time to do anything with them this weekend. Plenty windfall apples in the back garden though so I'll make apple and elderberry jelly next week.

And DD went swimming today for free as part of our local council's Girls on the Go program. Different taster activity every week for an hour and a half and costs nothing.

In the last week, I have had cooking apples, plumes and damsons, all courtesy of a girl at work,
kept some and given some away so others have benefited.
Also today got some spider plants and cyclamens off my dad,
