Went Charity Shop shopping today and found preloved Homemade Wines,Syrups and Cordials for 50p ....Mrs. Beeton's Favourite Recipes for 50p (which says on the front cover 'Specially Selected for DAMART customers) .... and cordon bleu cookery, rosemary hume and Muriel Downes £1.

Also, as we were walking along a high street we were stopped and offered a Morrisons voucher by a sales rep, the voucher was for £4 off a £40 shop (we don't live near enough to that town to use it though) and we were also both given a free trolley coin. :j

Calamity corner in B&Q... half a pallet of chipped paving slabs.. £30, not badly chipped either. Worked out at 50p each rather than £4.75 each!

Mum gave me their nearly new mattress topper quilt thing as they have bought another one. It will go on my bed tomorrow when I change the bedclothes.

  • Next door neighbour had replaced wooden slatted beds and had the wood in their garden. Their intention would be to take this to the tip, but past experience warned us that this may take around 6-12 months:rotfl:

Hubby said we could use the wood and if they'd like he could take the lot and take the stuff to the tip that he couldn't use. It's good quality wood and he is building a cupboard system under our breakfast bar for extra storage. He'll buy new cupboard doors, but that's all it will cost. It complements our existing kitchen units and looks great!

I got some walnuts from my neighbour's tree, she puts a big bucket at the end of her driveway, so I helped my self. They need to dry out, so they are looking pretty in a bowl on the coffee table. Even if they are inedible they look nice! :D
