i have exactly the same problem, cracking noises, fan making a funny noise and lower back of fridge frozen up, just called samsung on 0845 7267864, spoke to a very nice lady about the problem and said that i have seen numerous complaints about this problem gave her the serial number and she said the machine has 2 year warranty and was buily 3 years ago so out of warranty but will do a one off free of charge repair as a good will gesture!! took my details and said a tech will call within 24 hours. i was expecting to get told sorry but gonna want your left arm in exchange for repair. will let you all know how it goes....:D fridge model is RSH1DBMH
  • i have a samsung fridge freezer with ice/water dispenser the model is RSH1DBRS my problem is that the water is not chilled the water from my tap is colder ! i recently had contact from samsung regarding a free upgrade as there was a fault with the motherboard on this model, the engineer has just been & fitted this but whilst he was here i told him about the water not being cold enough also that any drinks in the fridge are also not ice cold as they should be, he fitted a new sensor but now the water & fridge are even warmer & i cant even hear the fridge motor switching on or off, he went away but another engineer is coming next week to fit some kind of cover on the back cos the first guy did not have one on his van, does anyone else have this problem ?

I haven't got around to buying a fridge freezer yet  .
Went into Comet and saw the new G series and thought it was lovely. The sales guy said Samsung had fixed all the problems (do I believe him???).
Comet only do the manhattan silver, but I want the stainless steel (Samsung RSG5DURS).
My first point...anyone got any experience of this new one (I appreciate its very new, but anyone heard anything bad...yet??!)
My second query - anyone seen it for less than £1300??!!! Why are the S.Steel ones so much more expensive?
Having read and reread most of this thread, I'm not sure I want to go down the Samsung route, but if they say they have addressed all the probs......???
    It looks really nice..........
    Ta for any help. x

DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG FRIDGE FREEZER. Our first broke (melted the back of the fridge). The new replacement G series Fridge Freezer broke within 3 months from new, that's two full loads of food lost in 3 months and Samsung do not give a damn.

Avoid Samsung G Series - or any others for that matter - buy something reliable like Bosch.
  • I have had the same problems as everybody above and called Samsung today on their landline number this morning as my fridge is now not cooling at all and had to throw a fait bit of smelly food out yesterday - seems the hot weather hasn't helped at all. Even though I am out of warranty by about 6 months they are fixing the problem free of charge and have assigned the problem to a company called DES Services to sort. Not fixed yet as am waiting for DES Services to book me an appointment - so we'll see how they do.

Needless to say, I still rate Samsung as a company and so far they haven't given me the impression they dont care - in fact quite the contrary. The girl I spoke to on the phone was really helpful, she knew there was an issue and didn't try to fob me off with "it could be something else" causing the problem. In fact, it gives me some confidence that this is maybe the only problem with the appliance and once fixed, wont be a problem again!
  • Hi, I have a RSH 1 DTMH bought at the end of August 2007. I defrosted it for about the seventh time and after the three days of requesting 5 degrees i'm down to 13 degrees. Motor sounds like a hoover. I just rung Samsung, after around 10 minutes i was told there is no extended warranty on this model and they would not help. £600 down the drain after less than three years. I will never buy anything made by this bunch of cowboys again.

  • i have a Samsung American f/f model RSH1NHMH, i have had it 22 months and about 10wks ago it started freezing at the bottom of the fridge and the temperature on the panel gets to 18. Comet have sent an engineer out and unfortunately he was unable to fix it because the "new sensor" is no longer available. Comet have now offered us a gift voucher for the price we paid to get a new one (unfortunately we bought it on an offer and this price doesnt cover the cost of a new f/f). I have since contacted Samsung and they are sending an engineer (today).
Because Comet have written the f/f off and are willing to give us a voucher for the cost, should i still be trying to get it repaired through Samsung??? I dont want to get into trouble for anything, especially if i accept the voucher and then get it fixed by some1 else for free (it is still under warranty).

I have the samsung RS20 ccms. So far it has broken and been repaired by samsung twice. It has now broken again. Same problem- the door light for the fridge is flashing and it just isnt keeping temperature. I am stressing right out about it.
Will be calling tomorrow so fingers crossed I can get an engineer out sooner than 2 wks!

Curious how many people have had an issue with this model as Samsung dont accept that there is a problem with this model (even though it is the same issue as the model they recalled)

Wondered if there is anything we can do to get this dealt with properly.
Don't get strung out by the way I look,
    Don't judge a book by it's cover
  • My fridge freezer's (model R321) fridge started making a noise, then within 24hrs got warm (12 degrees). Freezer then got to +1 degree. Read pages here re similar issues which gave Samsung help phone number 0800 988 0123 (previously given out on TV consumer program 2 yrs ago?).
Called number Monday giving serial number and model, they indicated extended warranty given due to design fault, and committed to fix FOC. Said engineer would call to make appointment within 24 hrs.
He called Tuesday and arranged to come today, Wednesday. He has been and replaced internal backpanel (inc fan) and heater. Fridge and freezer now apparently working perfectly. Whilst here he also fitted anti sparking device to prevent new problem that has been found, again FOC.
Incredible service on three year old device, thank you Samsung!
Saw comments about issues returning but so far my experience is very good.:)
