  • My Samsung fridge freezer has started to 'buzz' annoyingly.

The noise stops when I open the fridge door and starts again when I close it.

It's not the vibration of articles in the fridge but it's more likely to do with the cooling system.

I've moved the position of the freezer to see if that works but it doesn't.

Has anyone got any ideas ?

    Shamrock.

This is the repair manual page for model RB1955. You can go back to the mainpage, and search for your model, or try adjusting the last number "52" in the address, up or down to go up or down the model line.

My buzzing and temp problem was solved by opening up the evaporator compartment inside the freezer, and manually defrosting it (I used a hairdryer) The whole unit was covered in ice, which was causing fan rubbing, and noise. The drain plug in the bottom tray was filled with ice, so I ran hot water down until it cleared. Now the freezer runs fine, stays at the set temp, and is quieter than ever.

Keep an eye on the door. My door was being left open for long periods by my kid. The frezer was working overtime, and the hot moist air was causing lots of ice (my hypothesis). This hopefully can avoid the problem recurring, but we'll see.

Hope this helps. It takes some time, but saves a costly non-warrantied repair visit.
  • Help!!!!

Our fridge has been making some strange nosies for the past few weeks, when opening the fridge door the noise would stop  the fridge compartment has officially stopped working, any tips on fixing the thing withour buying a new fridge/freezer? we had it just over two years so are gutted that this fault has occured so soon.

Noticed this morning thats the filtered water has stopped running too  freezer works fine.

Would really appreciate some help, thanks..

well with all the product model info u gave im sure help is just moments away

oh and of course u contacted the people that make it for help.
The orginal post in this thread has a very very slim chance of being about money saving. The post is more than likely to ask a question that google could answer better than any of us.

Have a look through the previous comments on this thread to see if your model is one for which the guarantee is extended for various parts because of a fault.

Mine is a different model but I am waiting for a third repair in three years. The warranty has been extended for 5 years
  • Our Samsung American Style fridge also started making a buzzing noise the other day. I noticed there was a build up of ice in the bottom left corner of the fridge. I took the back panel off (inside the fridge) and behind it, it was all blocked up with ice. After breaking all the ice away and putting it back together it works good (and quiet) as new.
It wasnt too hard to do, all i needed was a screw driver. The panel was a little hard to remove because of the ice build up, but if your careful there shouldnt be any problems.
One of the posts said an engineer would cost about £200!!?!?! If thats the case im in the wrong job, it only took about 30 mins including moping up.
  • My samsung has developed a fault similar to described above. I have looked for a model number on it but it just says Silver Nano - does anyone know if its the same model number. I rang an engineer and was told to turn it off for 48 hours but reading the posts dont know whether to contact Samsung direct under their 5 yr warrant. I have had mine for 31/2 years. Thanks
  • Hiya All, Thought I would add my experience with my Samsung FF Model -: RS21DGRS.

Roughly three weeks ago I had the same problems already reported - Fridge temp increased to 15 Degrees, Water no longer working and now the ICE machine is no longer working. Anyway I have had the FF for almost five years now and during that time I have moved and divorced etc etc..ayway long story short I managed to get Comet to Fax through the proof of purchase to Samsung allowing them to book me in for the new parts.that was 8 days ago, since then I have been told by the local engineer company(DES) that they are still waiting for parts.Once again I have chased Samsung who have promised me that DES will receive the parts by Friday.Once again I have spoken to the abrupt staff at DES who have advised me that an engineer will be booked as and when the parts arrive..looks like I am going to be in for more fun..I have explained that I have a two year old in the house and milk going sour is not really making the job easier..Not sure if anyone else is having these issues.

Mines packed up again - 14 months after the condenser cover was sorted out! Different bit this time - apparently its the sensor. I suppose I can look forward to a regular visit from the engineer for the next couple of years.

I know I'm quoting my own earlier post but my bloody Samsung has packed up yet again!!! Its the 3rd time - and the last repair was exactly one month ago. The noise is even worse this time - sounds like a microlite plane now.

I'm getting increasingly concerned as the extended five year warranty runs out early next year.

  • I bought a RSA1WTMH three days ago. This morning I plugged it in and set the temp of the fridge to 3 degrees and the freezer to -20. nine hours on the fridge still hasn't cooled to anywhere near those temps. The fridge is at 15 degrees and the freezer is still at 25 degrees.

I rang Samsung earlier after seeing the amount of trouble that their fridges cause and their supervisor said that it normally takes 24 hours for the fridge to cool to their correct temperature? Is this normal or was she just fobbing me off??
