im looking at getting a fridge/freezer in this style.

seems to be hard work to find a good one unless of course u spend silly money - but then i dont see many reviews etc of teh expensive models
The orginal post in this thread has a very very slim chance of being about money saving. The post is more than likely to ask a question that google could answer better than any of us.

My parents LG has been going strong for seven years now and they are very keenly priced.
  • Reading the problems with samsung fridge freezer. I am getting the same buzzing noise, but goes away when door opens. Freezer worked fine, but fridge temperature kept going up. Finally fuse blew this morning, fuse had tripped in the fuse box...reset but kept blowing when plugged in the fridge. Fridge and freezer not working at all now
Anyone any ideas as to what this could be and what the possible cure might be.

My fridge freezer was purchased in Aug 08. Had same problems with fridge making noise and ice build up. Although the model I have was supposed to have been modified.
Reported problems to Samsung beginning of June and an engineer came out within a week. However, Samsung have problems locating the spare parts. Everytime I call them I get a different story and they put the date forward as to when they expect to receive them. My fridge is barely cooling now and it is almost a month since the engineer called. On Friday the company who deal with the engineering side for Samsung said that there is a problem with getting the parts at the moment. They come from a supplier in Holland or are shipped in from Korea.

The day the engineer called he said he had been to 5 other calls that day with the same problem. I am now dealing with the credit card company to try and get a refund. Trading Standards have advised to send a registered letter/recorded delivery to express dissatisfaction especially as 2 year warranty due to expire.

I urge everyone with problems to contact Watchdog. It is unfair that Samsung cannot even tell you when the part/s will be available. Customer Service is absolutely disgraceful they give you incorrect information and can't wait to get you off the phone.
  • Hi,

Just been on to Samsung re noisy fan and they hope to have engineer out to replace faulty parts within a couple of days, fridge is about 30 months old but due to Watchdog prog they are fixing problems in units up to 5 years old free of charge,
Very pleasant to deal with compared to Currys who wanted a call out charge for engineer, thats Currys off my list of shops to purchase from !!!!

My fridge/freezer has developed a fault third year running - this part seems to last a year only as it alwyas goes around August time (extended warranty was envoked last year). Guy came to repair last week but didn't have the part so did a 'temporary' fix. Phoned again yesterday - waiting for a response.

Mines packed up again - 14 months after the condenser cover was sorted out! Different bit this time - apparently its the sensor. I suppose I can look forward to a regular visit from the engineer for the next couple of years.
