Does anyone know if the problem occurs on the SRS2028 model and if the extended 5 year warranty will apply ?

We've just done the do-it-yourself thawing fan routine - about to plug fridge back in and hopefully we will have coolness again - for a while !
can anyone tell me - now we have done this have we invalidated any future claim under new 5yr warranty ? Also has anyone got service from Samsung without having proof of purchase? I cannot find receipt anywhere - cannot they check dates from serial number?0 -

Have a read at this news item and contact Samsung.
Yes, they can tell the age from the serial number even if they tell you differently.
The SRS series, so far as I know, are being repaired as well FOC.

i turned my ice machine on vacation mode when went on hols. Turned back on but no ice - i have messed about withe ice timer thing and i am not sure if this has messed it up. I can't find my instruction manual. Does anyone know how to turn off the ice timer and any way to get my ice back.

I had done the defrosting thing several times and thought the fridge repairman might say it invalidated the warranty, but he just took the panels off and ripped off the evaporator cover, so would not have been able to tell it had been off before. Fingers crossed that everything is now fixed but I haven't dared look to see if any ice has formed on the outside of the new cover.0

we did the defrosting job but its not worked - fridge still not cold enough and no water - rang samsung - engineer coming next week so we shall see what happens:rolleyes:0

I have a Samsung fridge-freezer which has lately been making a rattling noise similar to what others here have described. Last night I noticed the fridge wasn't working at all, but the freezer section is ok. It just isn't cooling in the fridge area. Is there a fix I can do myself or will I need to call someone out? Thanks for any help.0 -

Hi ,
We experienced the niosy fan problem and eratic fridge temperatures. When we called comet they said that we would have to call Samsung Direct and have someone come out and look at it. Comet kindly supplied a number which we called and an Engineer was dispatched to us within 5 days. Luckily our fridge was still within the 24 months manufacturers warranty so the whole fridge cooling fan unit was replaced and the job was done within 15 mins. The Engineer did remark that this particular part of the fridge was covered upto 5 years under the warranty. By the way the engineer did check our proof of purchase before he started to do anything! Whether or not the new unit will start to display they same freezing symtoms as the old - only time will tell! At least some of the articles listed here show you what the problem is and how to to a D.I.Y job on it!0
