I have emailed him through here and he says I would hear from the solicitor by the end of the week, this was two weeks ago. I then emailed him and asked what was going on and have had no reply.

Have you tried through the Fair Return? Maybe he will answer through the company? Who is your solicitor? Is it Watsons?

But I thought Loanchecks job after you had the initial audit was to put you in touch a solicitor, not someone else who has not got a clue? Don't they actually say that on their documents? It mentions nothing about someone else from what they have quoted in things from the internet?
No it goes to a solicitor then the solicitor then employs/uses the information gathering service which are the people that come round to sign the stuff. Our contract is with the solicitor. The others are just there as a paperwork finishing exercise. They have no say and no information apart from what they have been told to do.

I dealt with petermb as well through 'fair return' and he had my paperwork for 8 months and has done absolutely nothing. I would have been better off trying to do it myself. I would be much further along. I was asssured it would all be done in 4 months blah blah and then he changed solicitors and again assured me and here I am with no replies to emails etc and I am really angry and upset that he promised all this and that and that people had won cases and he was dealing with a nearly 100 people on here (which put me at ease and maybe I shouldnt have fell for that)

I need to find the template letters on here somewhere now and carry on with what I was doing before he contacted me.

Hi Pammy sorry you are having problems here. If your case is not time barred then try to do it yourself with the information on this thread. If you need help then just post a thread and somebody will help you.

And I suppose this again is like with any contract. You are signing that you have read the terms and conditions of the contract (regardless of WHAT the courier says!!) as they are really only sales people getting you to sign a contract. IF any sales person says to you that there would be no charges if you cancel and no risk etc then it is up to you to READ the terms before signing and not to listen really!! How on earth could anything be proved in cases like this where a contract takes place in your home by a third party? Going to have a look at contract law now!!!

    Good question.

As they (Watsons) only get paid for winning a case you would have thought they would want to stop working on the case immediately and return the documents to the clients.
    Something here about file retention
    File retention

Your solicitor is entitled to hold on to papers and documents that belong to you until you have paid your solicitor's bill. This legal right is called a "lien". After your case is closed, they will keep your file for a number of years.
We (the Legal Complaints Service) will retain your complaint file for two years and three months after your complaint has been resolved.
If your solicitor's practice closes, please contact the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). The SRA will help you obtain your file.
