With all these complaints that Loancheck hold couldn't some good be done with them in class actions... surely there are lots of the same complaints against the same companies. Just a silly thought.

talking about watsons. Like a lot of people here I also have not had an update, got the usual stories, moving office, computer system, backlog, audit report etc etc. rang numerous times, no response, finally wrote in complained, no response, emailed no response, finally i went to the solicitor complains authority. They have been dealing with it since nov. Timescales make it a slow process. 3 times they requested an explanation as to why watsons had not responded. No response, finally they have sent an email requesting a satisfactory response, threatened to send an agent in to collect my file (nothing). Next I believe they are passing it onto the law society who I hope are going to carry through the threat and send someone to collect my filerequest my file.

what an earth is going on, nothing seems to be worrying watsons, he is holding onto the cases by his teeth and will not release any information at all.

My case went through loancheck july 08 and with watsons since sep 08. last update was May 09, tried for months and was fobbed off by loancheck until finally I complained to watsons in August (allowed 28days for response) sent another letter (nothing) daily telephone calls (nothing) then contacted the complaints authority begining of Nov.

I am totally fed up, I have a secured loan on my property 40K, I have paid off over 15K in 5years, yet the loan has only gone down £200.00. They also front loaded PPI 6K (although loan is for 25years PPI only covers me for 5years) certainly as far as I am concerned a case. A lot is wrong with my documentation, but I am stuck with watsons.

I am hoping the law society can do something but suppose will have to wait another month timescales.

Use the standard letter templates on this site to reclaim your PPI

Watsons are obviously not going to do it for you and at least you can take control of your case.

Glad you are getting there millwallpaul. Great as well that they "have" put it all in writing. I would make sure that everything, win or lose, and if they go well over their timescale you can pull out, are all free of charge. Also that your compaint with Watsons is completely dead and buried and that there are no fees owing from yourself whatsoever.

Oh, and you are not going to be charged for photocopying, postage etc as well. Then it is completely free of charge.

There are rules governing how all of these cases are meant to be progressed by lawyers.

They are called the Civil Procedure Rules and details of them are on the MOJ's website.

If these rules are followed then any claim should take a maximum of 18-20 months.

When were these rules made then? Were they around when Watsons took on cases? Also would they count as clients had contracts with solicitors after they said "yes" to loanchecks assessment so would these rules apply. This is what some have said, the liability of Loancheck goes after passing them on. Do not understand how MOJ can become involved with solicitors? Am I being thick (as usual) here?? Do you just mean MOJ, but nothing to do with claims management companies? Who would a client complain to if rule what you say above are not followed as BK are not regulated by MOJ are they??

What about Watsons coming after them for a bill as "some" have stated?

These rules have been around for about 10 years.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Procedure_Rules_1998#History gives an excellent description.

The MOJ are also responsible for publishing and amending these rules as well as regulating CMC's.

Lawyers have to follow them and they have to abide by http://www.sra.org.uk/solicitors/code-of-conduct/rule9.page when dealing with introducers.

He can only bill for what he has done - nothing.
  • Hi there,

Cannot deal with my claim myself as again signed a conditional fee arrangement and would be liable for cost if I tried to give to another solicitor, I know I have had at least 2 audits and was at the stage where I was awaiting final audit as all documentation had been received from ge money.

To be honest its not just PPI, there are two secret commissions with the same case and the APR is incorrect due to the insurance being added to the loan, I need a solicitor.

It is my intention to get the SRA (hopefully) to close my case with Watsons on poor customer service grounds and start a fresh with a new solicitor. Ideally I want my file back.

What gets me though is he did not respond to the complaints authority, surely he should be worried?
    :(

So in the case of boberick then, the case has been with the solicitor since September 08 so is it only in may this year that they could complain??
