  • talking about watsons. Like a lot of people here I also have not had an update, got the usual stories, moving office, computer system, backlog, audit report etc etc. rang numerous times, no response, finally wrote in complained, no response, emailed no response, finally i went to the solicitor complains authority. They have been dealing with it since nov. Timescales make it a slow process. 3 times they requested an explanation as to why watsons had not responded. No response, finally they have sent an email requesting a satisfactory response, threatened to send an agent in to collect my file (nothing). Next I believe they are passing it onto the law society who I hope are going to carry through the threat and send someone to collect my filerequest my file.

what an earth is going on, nothing seems to be worrying watsons, he is holding onto the cases by his teeth and will not release any information at all.

My case went through loancheck july 08 and with watsons since sep 08. last update was May 09, tried for months and was fobbed off by loancheck until finally I complained to watsons in August (allowed 28days for response) sent another letter (nothing) daily telephone calls (nothing) then contacted the complaints authority begining of Nov.

I am totally fed up, I have a secured loan on my property 40K, I have paid off over 15K in 5years, yet the loan has only gone down £200.00. They also front loaded PPI 6K (although loan is for 25years PPI only covers me for 5years) certainly as far as I am concerned a case. A lot is wrong with my documentation, but I am stuck with watsons.

I am hoping the law society can do something but suppose will have to wait another month timescales.

I am sure someone who knows will be along soon. Sorry you are having these problems. If you read back through the thread then there may be some ideas on what to do.

Probably best thing maxdp. I think that it may help to clear things up. He will have to address you then.

I would also book a tram ride up the Great Orme - at least you'll have some fun on the day.

Is this what all you people who have had bad service from Watsons will do now...

Maxdp, as you have sent your complaint off to the Law Society what timescale do they have to actually get back?

    Examples of compensation here

Don't know which category something like this would fall into.

  • Hi All

I have had some contact back from Stokes who confirmed on the phone that he understands my fears regards the CFA having been through what I have with Watsons. He feels I have a very good case and assured me that I will get 100% of any compensation gained and will not be liable for any fees win or lose.

He has backed all this up in a letter, so I have it in writting.

I am going to write back asking for an estimated calculation of what the value of my case is worth and get them to commit to a time period of how long my case is likely to take to resolve.

Any other suggestions that I should ask for clarification on would be very welcome.

I must say that although some reservations are still there, they have alleviated most and I am certainly thinking about using them, as I am still worried about the clock ticking for the period I can claim and also my chance of success, as I will have to threaten court, because it was in 2001, before they were regulated.

Glad you are getting there millwallpaul. Great as well that they "have" put it all in writing. I would make sure that everything, win or lose, and if they go well over their timescale you can pull out, are all free of charge. Also that your compaint with Watsons is completely dead and buried and that there are no fees owing from yourself whatsoever.

Oh, and you are not going to be charged for photocopying, postage etc as well. Then it is completely free of charge.
