Hi, Thanks to the original poster. I bought one of these when the original post was put on to MSE. It then disapeared, but thanks to Google eventually found it and ordered one from Nice PC.
I am really pleased with it and it looks very nice in comparison to a lot of others that I have seen. Picture Quality is good and it has a 2 Year collect and return Warranty.
If you are thinking of buying one, go and buy it you will not be disapointed.
Thanks

No offence, but somebody saying "im impressed with the picture" doesnt mean much. I would want a decent review before I parted with my money.
What do you think a review is? Someone's opinion. Fair enough if you don't trust my opionion, but why hang about on this type of group? Surely you need https://www.expertreviewsontopqualitybrands'r'us.com?smashed wrote:
That said, (going back to cars again) there are plenty of people who buy all sorts of rubbish Kia, Daewoo etc and believe that the car is of high quality.
Sigh [shakes his head & reaches for the remote control of his new premium brand FJS 42" Plasma TV]- you missed my point.
Fujitsu Siemens is a collaboration between two highly regarded companies. It would devalue their parent brand to churn out shoddy goods...just because they are new kids on the block in the Plasma TV domain, doesn't put them in the category of "budget" or cheap/shoddy.0 -
Awwww are the nasty men taking the mickey out of your new budget plasma Hanky? There there baby, dont worry ill get your rattle back for you.
Dear me.
Spouting on about Fujitsu is stupid as this set is not made by fujitsu. Its clearly not a top brand, its made by an IT firm and is meant predominantly for the IT market not the home AV market, just because theres a digital tuner or whatever bolted on doesn't mean it was originally made for the home user.
As has been said before, its very much like the plasmas that were made by Tiny and sold for a pitance a while back and they were poor.0 -
You have missed my point mate. I am not saying that this is the equivalent of a Kia. I am just saying that this ISNT as good as a Panasonic even though you say it is.
At the end of the day, this shouldnt even be on the Grabbit board.
Answer me this... if this TV is such a great set, with so much time in Research & Development by the company..... how come they havent got it on widespread sale at major retailers? And sent it off to major AV magazines for review??
That it is only available at some lower quality sites should really tell you something about its origin.Be nice0 -
Hi all, first time I've seen a thread that's motivated me to register and post rather than just follow the lovely lovely bargain links. Felt I could help clear up a couple of things on this thread because I know some people who work at Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) in Bracknell, and I've got one of these TVs through this connection.
FSC's a joint venture between Fujitsu and Siemens - it's 50% owned by each company. Basically the two companies decided to combine their European computer hardware manufacturing departments about 5 years ago to exploit the crossover between the brands, and are the only company to do complete end to end offering from PDAs to Mainframes. They're massive in Germany (largest hardware supplier) and expanding a lot across the rest of Europe (3rd largest hardware supplier). Think they're 4th or 5th largest hardware manufacturer in the UK. There's no shareholders to satisfy, and they've got the financial backing of the two large parent companies. It's not a 'cheap brand', and also has far too much brand investment (mainly in Europe and in the Enterprise business space) to risk selling shoddy equipment. Bear in mind this is a company that wins PC Pro Reliability and Service awards. All in all, this isn't a company you should expect to do a Time. Is FSC a 'top brand' established in the plasma market? No. Is FSC in general a 'top brand'? Yes.
The TV itself is great as far as I'm concerned. Hooked it up to a PC, PS/2 and Freeview box. Downloaded HD stuff via the PC is great (as are games), the PS/2's sharp as anything and the ordinary TV picture's great as well (World Cup was an entirely different experience on something this size). To quote someone on the AV forums 'a panel that looks great when a good source is provided at a great price'. Most people on there seem to be happy with the set as well.
As to the price... I'd think someone's found a link that was meant for internal use for an employee offer with FSC's partner companies. The lack of reviews is more down to the fact that FSC UK don't generally do plasmas in the same way that the other FSC European companies do. I think if you try some German searches on Google you might have some more luck finding some.
Hope this helps.0 -

FJS are major players in the IT (business) market...I'd say their main market is much more discerning than the average retail punter. You & your anoracky techie geeky mates are in the minority, but regardless...oh, forget it I can't be @rsed.Baz wrote:

Sound logic! On a sample of one.....
Pittance = poor.
Top dollar = great.
Are you the same BAZ from Hemscott Info Exchange? Your postings on there suck too!0 -
Baz, Smashed please read MATTWPBS's post above then [adopt a whiney Sweeney-esque voice] "Shuut iiiit!"
You're embarrasing yourselves with your continuing 'head in the sand' stance - "This Fujitsu-Siemens plasma is cheap, therefore it must be like Tiny/Tevion/Orion/Tonka. You have to buy a Panasonic to hang with us, blah blah"0 -
Are you sure MATTWPBS isnt you in disguise?? Very coincidental.
And for the record I checked google.de previously.
Also, AVForums will tell you EXACTLY what I have said on here. If any neutrals want to read the thread they are more than welcome to. The link is below. But to cut a long story short there are only about 2 people on there who have bought the TV. And they agree that you get what you pay for with this set... I didnt hear the words "this is a premium brand" or "a great TV" or "better than my panasonic" on there... What they actually say is that it is a computer brand, and that the set struggles with SD material compared to premium brands (and remember that 99% of people will only see SD material at present).

Please just accept fair criticism Hank.
And if your post is such a bargain, where are all the people writing in to say thanks for the bargain?Be nice0 -
And for the record I have a Toshiba 36ZP48.. a CRT TV, purely because the image quality on SD tops that of current Plasmas and LCD's. I watch HD on my projectorBe nice0
